Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

bill the cat, what the hell are you talking about. he played this at woodstock as a protest to the war. the random noises are people screaming, ambulances, guns and other sounds of war. thats why its such unbelievable work.

I wrote a full essay on this song in one of my college coarses. This song was played at woodstock, but apparently Hendrix wasn't vehemently anti-war. When I interpret it, I like to think of it as a reality check to really get across the horrors of war to a good sized audience. He isn't saying "fuck war" necessarily, he's just showing us that war isn't about heroes being patriotic and all that delusional bullshit, it's about tons of innocent people being killed alongside a few rebels, by large amounts of bullets, chemicals and explosives, being dropped by a big country (the US, hence the star spangled banner) on a major power trip. This song can be very easily interpreted as anti-war, I see it this way myself, but it's up to the audience to interpret it. This is also why when hendrix was asked on a TV show interview to comment on this song, he didn't say what it was about, he just said "I thought it was beautiful", and he recieved a standing ovation from the audience at the show.
I have a live version of this song where Hendrix pauses for a second near the end of the song to say "and the flag was still there, big deal."

Um Frankenstrat_5150 Jimi Hendrix was from Seattle. When he was discovered by Chas Chandler he went to England and almost instantly became a success. Then he came back to America and gained American fame after his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival.
