Beautiful song but it's not by the Moody Blues. it's a Justin Hayward solo from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of the War of the Worlds.
Hayward's voice is so perfect for this song! Wayne's lyrics, as well, is also very well written, relating how the singer cannot simply enjoy autumn without his love, or how he wishes it was autumn forever. Heartbreaking!
Yes, beautiful tune writtenand recorded first by Vigrass and Osborne. Justin sang it on Jeff Wayne's record in the late '70s. If you can find the original by Vigrass and Osborne, listen. It's a bit more organic, with less production, but beautiful all the same.

I met a girl, I lived in Tennessee & she lived in Canton,Ga. I would drive to see her & It was autumn of 2014. This was one of her Favorite songs. I cannot recall ever hearing it as a child. If I did I'm sure I would remember it. It could be said that this song is about Lost Love or even losing someone you Love..to me, Autumn or fall represents Depression or sadness. Anyway, the girl suffered from depression & it just couldn't last. Never let your life be filled with sadness & don't let others make you sad....
