Wake The White Queen Lyrics

Little girl running away from the world
Don't blame yourself, words are less than love.
In a wonderland, you can bend the course of fate.
You can find the key and dream the darkness away.

And if you search within yourself, to wake the White Queen,
The key is hidden deep insde the world you're making.
And if you find it in yourself, you'll wake the White Queen
For mother's love you'll understand, this mirror's in your mind

Talking books and Valentines, your guide...
Run Helena, the Black Queen's lost her child
And the tendrils dark are eating up the light.
You see her through the window but she's looking back.
(She's looking back at you)!

And if you search within yourself, to wake the White Queen,
The key is hidden deep inside the world you're making.
And if you find it in yourself, you'll wake the White Queen
For mother's love, you'll understand this mirror's in your mind.
And everyone wears a mask...

The Nothing is coming, to swallow the world.
And your mother is sleeping, she dreams of a girl.
But the girl she is dreaming, your dream is her world.
Still the Nothing is coming, because it follows you, little girl...

I loved this movie.

It's a well-sung summary of the main point behind Neil Gaiman's "Mirrormask" (a must-see and a must-read, by the way)

This song was written for the album "Where's Neil When You Need Him?" which compiles songs based on the various works of Neil Gaiman. As said above, it is a beautiful song following the basic plot of 'Mirrormask'

One thing about this song that bugs me, in the movie they pronounce the name he-le-NA, Valentine even remarks that it's drab. The song uses the much more interesting pronunciation of huh-LAY-na. I suppose any other way wouldn't fit the song as well, but the inconsistency is annoying.

Well, on the same album the name Coraline is pronounced two different ways too, in two different songs. (Well, three.)

This song is so addictive to my ears. I hear it once and I have to play it five times. And yes, it fits 'Mirrormask' well. The video is AMAZING, BTW.

It's a song about MirrorMask, from what I can tell. :) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366780/

Either that, or it's just creepily linear to the plot of the movie. lol.

It is based on Mirrormask. Since it's located on the Neil Gaiman tribute CD, which I highly recommend.
