Drunks, Lovers, Sinners And Saints Lyrics

Alright!
This is from our hearts (From our hearts)
And there's always gonna be a part of this crowd
Who don't understand

Oh!

And I feel the same
I won't ever change
Not a jaded hair upon my head

Are you pretending?
(That you care!)
Are you even listening?
Are you pretending?
(That you understand!)
Are you even?

Suits to the left
Squares to the right
Cause my heart - my heart is full
And we ride to fight

Suits to the left
Squares to the right
Cause my heart - my heart is full
And we ride to fight

Suits to the left
Squares to the right
Cause my heart - my heart is full
And we ride to fight

Suits to the left
Squares to the right
Cause my heart - my heart is full
And we ride to fight

Are you pretending?
(That you care!)
Are you even listening?
Are you pretending?
(That you understand)
Are you even listening?
Are you pretending?

Are you? Are you?

Are you even listening?!
Are you pretending?!
That your heart's in the right place!

Are you pretending?
Are you even listening?
Are you pretending?
Are you even...

There's no need to waste my time
Spending your life
Jumping from sinking ship to sinking ship
I think I'd rather drown
I know I'd rather drown!

Oh!

And I feel the same
I won't ever change
Not a jaded hair up on my head!

It's a great first track to warm you up for the rest of the album.

The chorus is so perfect with Dallas singing "are you pretending?" and then Wade singing "that you care"

I may be wrong, but by listening to it. It sounds like the part that was left out is:

"Alright! This is from our hearts. Sincerity of a simple cause."

I don't know though. I really like this song. Wade's ttaking a bigger part in the vocals. Him and Dallas are playing off of each other more on Crisis. It's great.

perhaps this is them introducing the album. and a generally pissed off song aimed at those who doubt them, and fakes. and they are saying that they have not changed (not a jaded hair upon my head) and that they have given this album their everything. "i wont change" reinforces this, that they will not change their style for anyone or any stupid scenes. this new album is so GOOD. this song just cements them as a close band- "my heart is strong, we ride to fight". :)

Hi everybody, im noob on the website.i just read in an interview (from a french webzine), that this song is about the itegrity of the band, they are authentic, they play music, they are not here to make money. its a "critic", a position about/against the "emofashioncore" bands...

yerrrrr, thats what i thought the first time i heard this song, that it's generally just telling the scenesters to get the fuck away and stop corrupting it.

i think the jumping from sinking ship to sinking ship bit is about how the fash kids will go from scene to scene pretending they like the music and what it stands for, and they're only doing it because one scene gets cooler than the rest for a bit.

and the are you even listening bit is where they're like "are you even listening to what we're saying? or are you just pretending"

states the obvious

but yerrrrr, this song fucking owns
