Oh, one more drink and then I'll go
But there's one more thing I've got to know
Does he take you places that I don't?
And what happened to the story that we wrote?

You just say you don't know, you don't know
Oh no, you don't know, you don't know, woo!

Oh, let's just get this whole thing straight
I don't wanna kidnap the truth and negotiate
Or miss the point that they met you
Just wanna hear you say something that you believe to be true

But you say you don't know, you don't know
You just say you don't know, you don't know
What it feels like, what it feels like

And so I'll go before I fall to pieces
Yes, I'll go before I fall to pieces

Now I'm just waiting for something that might never come
If it's a million to one shot, I'll make sure I'm one
Seems that nothing is safe except the truth turns to lies
Never figured it out, I found out why

So I'll go, yes I'll go
Yes I'll go, yes I'll go
Oh baby I'll go, oh yes I'll go
Yes I'll go, oh yes I'll go

Before I fall to pieces
Before I fall to pieces
Yes I'll go before I fall to pieces
Yes I'll go before I fall to pieces

I think it's about him asking an ex why her new lover is better than him, and she isn't giving a straight answer, and that's making him hurt all the more. And he really wants her back too.

Nice lyrics to this one Sounds like its about a girlfriend/ex/friend, who he's fed up with and shes driving him up the wall because of the things mentioned in the song?

I really like this song. One of my fav on the album. I think its about either a girl that left him for another man. Or he is having a conversation with atleast an ex and wants some answers as to why they aren't together anymore.

You know when your boyfriend/girlfriend calls you over to their place, sits you down to talk to you, then tells you they've been seeing someone else?

That's what this song is about.

Well.....I dont think so. It sounds kinda like wasting your life on someone, to then realise that they really aren't interested. It's taking yourself off before the situation becomes even more awkward. You know, when you like someone, and it really is ALL you cant think about.

And then....then something happens, a lokk, a kiss, anything, and you realise that they dont like you...It sucks...But it's life. x

I don't think this song is about an ex, i think that he's got involved with a girl who's cheating on her boyfriend and he's the other guy, and he's fallen for her big time, he wants her to leave him but she's not giving him a straight answer and basically just arseing around... I think in the end he just gets fed up of her messing him about and decides she ain't worth it.

Whatever it means, I love the song anyway. x

i think it's supposed to be

"or miss the point, aim at you"

in line 10, and not "that they met you...

but yeah, besides Vice definately ma favourite song. ever.

I think this is about a girl that he's met.. and the girls seems to be a playa. He's obviously fallen for her, but she wont give him a straight answer about how she feels etc.

So the 'before i fall to pieces' seems to say that he wants to leave and rather not know now because he doesn't want any heartbreak.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
