Dominoes Lyrics
Sitting with the dog
Trying to clear the fog
Of the memory, the last time
I saw her face
Fifty years of time
An accident would take my mind
Shortly after take my wife away from me
Everybody knows, memories will keep you alive
Some of them can't be erased
If I remember one today
Let it be of Grace
Cat skills are all frozen
Playing dominoes
And I can hear a voice reminding me
I'm her hero
Finding myself able
With the chair across the table
To remember that it wasn't always empty
Everybody knows, memories will keep you alive
Some of them just won't go away
If there's a memory left of Grace
Let it come back today
And I see her beside me
As the grandkids, they remind me
She's in the cemetary
That we played in as kids
They just think I'm crazy
But the things she tells me lately
Are the only things that I cannot forget
Everybody knows, memories will keep us alive
Some of them just can't be erased
If I remember one today
Let it be of Grace
Trying to clear the fog
Of the memory, the last time
I saw her face
An accident would take my mind
Shortly after take my wife away from me
Some of them can't be erased
If I remember one today
Let it be of Grace
Playing dominoes
And I can hear a voice reminding me
I'm her hero
With the chair across the table
To remember that it wasn't always empty
Some of them just won't go away
If there's a memory left of Grace
Let it come back today
As the grandkids, they remind me
She's in the cemetary
That we played in as kids
But the things she tells me lately
Are the only things that I cannot forget
Some of them just can't be erased
If I remember one today
Let it be of Grace

such a good song. its about a man who has Alzheimer's disease and he plays the game dominoes to remember his wife Grace who passed away.
it's about his grand parents.. this song is so sad. at the show i went to he explained this song.
it was something about how his grandmother/grabdfather had alzheimer's and struggled to remember their beloved, no matter how long they stood by each other and wrote this song after they died i believe.
i can't remember the exact explanation but its somehwere along those lines.
we will put this one to rest.... I'm not sure if it was HIS grandparents, but whatever... here's his story

These lyrics are beautiful, the topic is so sad.. But something about the sound of the song I don't like. His voice or the melody maybe... I don't know. Definitely not a song I could listen to over and over.
