I agree with MascaraTears. It's about confusion in a relationship. In my mind, it's about a couple that have or are on the road to breaking up.

i think it may be somewhat about be board with either the realationship, friends, family and life in general. he is feeling everything is set out and everything is repetitive.

I believe that this song is about a man who is confused in his relationship. The couple seems to focus on the negative and all of the bad stuff. He doesn't know if they will make it, but he wants it to work out. He wants them to clean themselves of all of the bad stuff and all of the worries and just start fresh.
