least favorite song on the CD. :/

To be perfectly honest, I've never even heard one of Drop Dead, Gorgeous's songs...A friend told me about them, so I looked up a few of their lyrics, and found that the ones for "Marietta" are (or, at least seem to be) to most original...They have a tragic sense about them, prehaps brought on by how short and vague they are...

Anywho, to be frank, most of their other stuff seems processed, like something I've heard before, full of self pity and all that crap(no offense)...But these, I really like. However I have no idea what they mean. I do know that Marietta is a city of northwest Georgia...But thats it ^_^

I like the background music in this song. the middle/end part. this song is nothing special, but i like the mood it gives off. with the weird doll-like sounds near the end. it's an odd song.

This song makes me think of the end of the world. How we're all going to end up killing each other through hatred and war (retreat). Imagine two people fighting to the death. One is going to die before the other (this river mustn't take us both). The "river" symbolizes death. "One by one" falls under that same case. "Hand to hand" means that we're all going to go down together, one by one.

ehh to me i think its refering to marieta GA b/c it has a huge river running through it and it could be refeing to a battle that happend there durring the civil war? idk though.

To me it sounds like that one story from the Bible...Noah's Ark...

But to be honest, I really don't know anything about the bible so I could be way wrong on this...

The lyrics aren't the best part of this song. I love the creepy vocals at the end, and after it all goes quiet there's the rewind sound. The title and the creepy sounds remind me of a doll/dolls. Scary haunted dolls.

the river im very sure is refering to the river styx which is the river that takes you to hades or something like that in greek mythology so basically river=death. hes saying that the brothers which just stands for people or humans are fighting and one by one knocking eachother off into the deep end yep i think thats it...
