The Forest Lyrics
I ran from the start,
I went too far,
Now I need you so much more,
The ghosts that dwell,
Through the ferns and the gloom,
Have made their deal and it's closing,
They can always make more room,
Climb up my tree,
Say unto me,
I am yours for the keeping,
This Slough of Despond,
That grabs me by the tail,
Will drown me in my sweet infatuation,
I don't have much to offer you,
Just take this love and see it through,
Don't let our dreams be overwhelmed,
And I'll save you from the forest dark and grim.
I went too far,
Now I need you so much more,
The ghosts that dwell,
Through the ferns and the gloom,
Have made their deal and it's closing,
They can always make more room,
Say unto me,
I am yours for the keeping,
This Slough of Despond,
That grabs me by the tail,
Will drown me in my sweet infatuation,
Just take this love and see it through,
And I'll save you from the forest dark and grim.

This is the song that introduced me to Windsor Drive (seeing how this is the first comment, I'm hoping that eventually others will be introduced to this song).
This is a great demonstration of the band's musical as well as lyrical talent. It reads like a fantasy/fairytale story. I believe the song is just an expression of the need for love ("I went too far, now I need you so much more") and the natural instinct of preserving and protecting it ("I am yours for the keeping", "I'll save you from the forest dark and grim"). It's a beautiful way of telling someone that you love them, hope they love you back, and that you would do whatever it takes to protect them.
I absolutely love this song, and for anyone who lives in Houston, like I do, and hasn't seen these guys perform live yet, you don't know what you are missing, and for those of you who dont live here, check the bands myspace for tour dates and locations. I absolutely love Kipp's voice, it has the melodic sense to it, that makes me melt everytime I hear him sing

oh wow my last one double posed that was weird
I first saw Windsor Drive in Stevens Point, WI when the boys were still in high school, and I've been hooked ever since. This is probably their best song. The ending instrumental is amazing -- listen closely and you can hear that the piano, cello and guitar are each playing separate parts, yet they all blend together as one...awesome.
