Already Over, Pt. 2 Lyrics

You never go
You're always here
Beneath my skin
I cannot run away
Fading slowly

Give it all to you
Reaching as I fall
It's already over, already over now

My best defense, running to you
I can't resist, take all you want from me
Breaking slowly

Give it all to you
Reaching as I fall
It's already over now
Loving you again
It's already over, already over now

You're what I reach for when I fall
It's already over
You're what I reach for when I fall
It's already over now

Why are there so many people who feel the need to claim every song is about God?

Niether version has anything to do with religion.

Totally agreed! Just because they are a religious band, doesn't have to mean that they want to sing about God and Christ 24/7!

The singer says it's about God. The first Already Over is about addictions controlling his life and the second is about coming back to god and being redeemed. You can't argue with the person that wrote the song

The lover could be God, and the addiction could be sin. The band is a Christian one so of course people are going to assume religious lyrics.

@SammaeL Just because you don't like religion doesn't mean you need to directly contradict everyone who infers religious meaning in lyrics. You're worse than them when you do.

I tottaly agree thank you for saying it

This is a slow version of Pt. 1, and whereas the faster version deals with running away from God, the lyrics are tweaked slightly on this version to make it more about coming back to Him and giving Him everything. It's about redemption.

Also acoustic, not just slow :). This version is somewhat haunting, and I like it, maybe even better than the regular version. This is the last song on the cd.

SammaeL,

this song has a lot to do with religion, there's even great proof in a dancing game called "Dance Praise" and all the songs played in the game are glorified to The Lord, and this song is in the game.

anyway, this song is amazing and I agree with cycle.of.ashes!

I don't quite see what it has to do with religion either. This version I can see it a little bit, but honestly I see both songs as having to choose between a lover and an addiction. In the original they choose the addiction and in this they choose the lover.

RED is a Christian band... this song, as well as most of (if not all) of their songs, it is about a personal relationship with God... so gosh Sammael, don't comment if you don't have any good input, please.

While it's true that not every Christian in a band makes songs about their faith, it's a pretty well-documented fact that Red do make songs about their faith. In fact, every song on their debut album are prayers and reactions to struggles they've experienced in life (or of those close to them), so in that respect they are about God.

I can, however, understand if we're talking about other bands such as Switchfoot, Relient K, 12 Stones, etc. that are Christians but don't always make songs about their faith, or God or whatever. To try to "find God" in all of their songs is putting them inside too small of a box. But the band Red specifically makes music about their faith. That is their agenda and chosen form of expression (at least for this album).

the beauty of RED's music is that many of their songs can be interpreted to do with religion or not with religion. I choose to believe that this song is about redemption and coming back to Christ, but that is my personal opinion and you can like it or not, but disrespect is not needed.

This song is so beautiful and I love that it is acoustic. I feel like it is about coming to to Christ after having fallen far from His love. I love it

I think this whole album is about God.... I've listened to it 5 times in a row and I see God in every song....I think when you haven't experienced Christ you don't really see him in everything but when you have a personal relationship with him then he's everywhere in everything you do.... I still can't get over how awesome this whole album is.... This song is amazing... I was just playing it before I commented on the song so it's fresh in my mind...
