This song is describing a drug addict. That wants to quit using but cant. "Buried way beneath the sheets i think she's having a melt down Finding it hard to fall to sleep she won't let anyone help her" Withdraw makes you go crazy basically and insomnia is very common. " The look on her face, A waste of time She won't let go, Gonna roll the dice" The look of being High.she wont let go is refering to the addiction. "Somewhere she is on the streets trying to make things better Praying to God and breathing deep" Doing what people who cant afford drugs do. Prostitution. :)

I think he is singing this song to a loved one who has a bad unhealthy drug addiction.

I feel that it is really a mix of things. He obviously loves the girl in this song and she is going through a very rough time in her life. This song has a lot of interpretations. I personally kind of see the girl just getting over a long relationship and him having feelings for her. She is breaking down and doesn't want to let go of her ex. And he finds it hard to look at her because he can see she is going through the breakup hard and wants her to have everything. The last verse about keeping your eyes open is him basically trying to tell her that she deserves so much better and could have anything she wants if she tries instead of wanting to settle for the guy who dumped her.

The reason I interpret it as that is mainly because I have been helping one of my good friends over a breakup and would do everything for her... but yeah it can be interpretted many ways

Also that verse I think is more of a rebound step where she basically wants to get out and try getting over him by making herself easy or "losing her grace" you could say.

I had actually believed that part was talking about her basically prosituting herself for her "fix." Thats just how I took it though. :)

I can see that too, i kinda thought that for a bit but a lot of the reason of my explanation/view is more of what was going on in my own life like right now.

I don't mean to seem very cold hearted because I can see where ScottyD620 got what he was saying. But like the guy said about prostitution I think that's basically what the song is about EXCEPT:

I think she was a girl that went through A LOT of stuff when she was younger growing up. I think she started to get into prostitution and now that she's found this guy wants to get out of it. I think it goes deeper than that though.
