Basically, a soldier who has seen so much war that he's gone insane - and thus has the 'eyes of the insane'.
I think it could just as easily refer to media coverage of the occupation of Iraq. Especially the first few lines....
This song is about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
It's a song inspired by the true story of a U.S. soldier who committed suicide shortly before he was due to return home from Iraq.

This is basically what happens to 25percent of all soldiers that return home, war for fucking oil.
Im pretty sure its about a soldier who's been brainwashed so much, when he goes to battle he starts getting flashbacks of his past life If u watch the video, it shows him strangling some dude for his gas-mask but then it shows his flashbacks of holding (spinning, playing) his little girl Anyone agree?
