I Mostly Like to Copy Other People Lyrics
so this is the time when you be what you just wanna be
i always thought this would come oh so naturally
i'm gonna do just what you order me to do
oh chase me, chase me. i'll run twelve circles around you
i'll make this way worse than you know
ain't it a shame that they won't remember all of this
we're all just faking out with someone who
tells us what we should miss
lets get, lets get it going
make a mess way worse than you know
we'll beat this town black and blue
with my quick and easy flow
they will ask us where we came from
where's the place that we blew in from
i wanna make them like us
i wanna make them worship us
it will make you feel like your in love
ain't it a shame that they won't remember all of this
we're all just faking out with someone who
tells us what we should miss
more fake than you have ever been
spin, spin the truth. gets it's chance
ain't it a shame that they won't remember all of this
we're all just faking out with someone who
tells us what we should miss
i always thought this would come oh so naturally
i'm gonna do just what you order me to do
oh chase me, chase me. i'll run twelve circles around you
we're all just faking out with someone who
tells us what we should miss
make a mess way worse than you know
we'll beat this town black and blue
with my quick and easy flow
they will ask us where we came from
where's the place that we blew in from
i wanna make them like us
i wanna make them worship us
we're all just faking out with someone who
tells us what we should miss
spin, spin the truth. gets it's chance
we're all just faking out with someone who
tells us what we should miss

care-lines you are stupid. anyone can listen to whatever you want. so why don't you stop getting on here and commenting the almost. if you like Bright Eyes and Radiohead lyrics then go comment theirs.
p.s.... The Almost lyrics are so much better, the fact he sings about his Christianity makes his lyrics so much better.
So I'm guessing none of you have invested in the September issue of AP magazine. Where they had an interview with Aaron. And he made a comment about this one song. "Clearly, the Almost aren’t a vehicle for Gillespie to escape the shadow of Underoath. Rather, it’s his plan to survive the entire era of contemporary punk in all it’s manifestations. The fourth track on Southern Weather, “I mostly copy other people,” takes a frank look at the current emo glut. He clearly doesn’t single out any bands, and he loves the scene that’s supported him. But consider: If 1980s hair-metal bands went from arenas to nightclubs in a sudden flash of flannel and grunge, nobody with a shirt currently on the wall at hot topic is really safe. “I feel in a lot of ways, this whole genre is something people are going to forget about,” says Gillespie. “They’ve forgotten about every other genre. The chorus goes, ‘Ain’t it a shame they won’t remember all this.’ It’s about how I feel that we’re all spinning our wheels, and we have to constantly check our reasons for playing this kind of music and make sure we’re doing it for a passionate reason, as opposed to just doing it because we’re in a band. I think we all do it sometimes, but I want to do it for bigger reasons.”
So yeah, That’s pree much it. Not relationships or anything.
i love this song and how aaron plays all the instruments =) =)
i love the song and aaron is my hero....i love him so much. he's amazing.
kenny vasoli from the starting line does guest vocals on this song. fuckin' awesome.
Um so, I came on here to see what other people thought about the meaning of this song's lyrics. Well. I guess I'll be the first. I think Aaron's talking about those people who get stuck in a sexual relationship when they themselves know that's not where they want to be. (Especially if they are religious)
Aaron Gillespie is awesome in both The Almost and Underoath. Great to see a Christian artist doing well in both Christian and secular scenes. Keep up the good work Aaron!
I think this song is about how different people change you. Like how if you hangout with a group of people you see that you change into them or you start acting like them. The song of the title also explains the song, because throughout the song it states how they "mostly copy other people"
I also think it could be able how you just want to fit in, like in the song the line says "it will make you feel like your in love" I think that means you know if you be like us we will like you.
I’m pretty sure this song is about the process of finding your true identity as you’re growing up. He’s saying that it’s the time when you be what you wanna be, but he realizes that its harder than it seemed it would be. Therefore, he begins to just copy other people. Then, he’s saying that it sucks no one will remember what he’s doing - especially because he’s not being himself. He then wants to make other people what him and his group are, he wants to make them worship them because then it’ll make them feel like ‘they’re in love’. He goes on saying that he’s being more fake than he’s ever been - he’s not being true to himself. I’m not actually sure if this is even right but it seems like it’s along the lines. =]
Weird, iTunes labelled the songs incorrectly or something. This one is labelled as Southern Weather for me.
