Well, I think the title of the song tells everything. Sometimes there are situations when people of specific features are not welcome. In this case, we have a 'long-haired, freaky' person. It doesn't necessarily mean that there's something wrong with having long hair and being sort of original in behaviour and look. Maybe it's the place that isn't worth of this person's attention.
So, don't let such situations get you down. That's what this song is all about, I suppose.
I'm not a native speaker of English, so I might misinterpret it, but that's how I understand Slim's song.
