I Love It When You Call

In my eyes (first post here) its about realising you wish to be with a person. Let me give you an example, me and my gf split up years ago now. Yet last night we started talking again.. and that "Switch" was literally like the feeling (pun :p) of it come surging back into your life... youve kept those feeling in the darkness for so long.. then boom there back.

And to me personally: I hit the ditch, you carried on. That means to me ofc, that she kept living in her life, whlist i fell into drinking and depression. And: "Sure who you are" That relates to both of us.. now that were both with different partners, theres still that spark, Are we sure who we are?

to me this song is about my friend: "i love you jamie hall, i love you jamie hall, i love you jamie hall and i want to feel your balls, so what's the complication, its sexual frustration, i love you jamie hall and i want to lick your balls."

OK, I hope this doesn't make you dislike the song, but the lead singer (Daniel Giles Gillespie Sells) is openly gay.

This song is clearly about a guy Dan used to be friends with, but his friend no longer talks to him because he can't handle his homosexuality. Dan however doesnt feel his sexual oreintation should affect their friendship and wishes they were still friends.

"So whats the complication, its only conversation, I love it when you call" -- Its not like Dan is asking his friend out on a date, he would just like to talk to an old friend and catch up.

I believe the second verse says that they used to be friends, but as they've grown up, they've formed perceptions of people and the world and Dan's friend as a result can now not accept his homosexuality due to social conditioning.

Dan even goes as far as challenging his former friends sexuality in the line:

"I was so near, now you're so far, Are you quite sure, just who you are?"

And in the bridge Dan goes on to state I wonder what you've been up to and even though we're not friends anymore I hope things are going well.

So there you have it. A very thoughtful and creative song about how the singer's sexuality doomed a friendship.

Such a good song could listen to it foever! It encompasses so much could be a friend or someone you love or both such a simple tag line but filed with so much meaning "What's the complication it's only conversation" but it's the conversation that IS the complication ! love The Feeling!

i really like this song but i think the chorus is lame... detracts from some of the quality lyricism of the rest of the song...

Oh just realised something, literally now as I'm typing and listening: Yeah I wonder where you've been, Yeah I wonder who you've seen,

These lyrics are used in Miss You, the song after Blue Picadilly. I like it when bands have lyrics which pop up more than once in albums.

This song is so addictive! I love it! I think it's about old friends, and how they were really good friends, but now you've seemed to lose touch. It reminds me of when I used to have long conversations on the phone with my friends from my old school, but now we don't talk anymore and I always remember the good times we had and how they were such good friends. And now, I wonder what they're like and how they've got on with life and if they've achieved what they used to say they always wanted to. I love the chorus, not lame at all for me.

Every single person who has left a positive comment on this page contributes to the state of the music industry as a whole. If people can't see through this total and utter rubbish that is designed to empty stupid peoples' wallets then there is no hope for truly talented artists to ever get the understanding and attention they deserve
