Give me the song and I'll sing it like I mean it
Give me the words and I'll say them like I mean it

Cos you got my heart in a headlock
You stopped the blood and made my head soft
And god knows
You got me sewn

Nah nah nah

Danny boy, don't be afraid, to shake that ass, and misbehave
Danny boy, I now you got time, but what are you waiting for,
Anyway the dust may just blow away, if you wait for a windy day

But you may find the chance has past you by;

I cant do the walk
I cant do the talk
I cant be your friend
Unless I pretend

So give me the song and I'll sing it like I mean it
So give me the words and I'll say them like I mean it

Cos you got my heart in a headlock
You stopped the blood and made my head soft
And god knows
You've got me sewn

Nah nah nah

Danny boy, don't be a fool
Take upon to break the rule
Danny boy your lookin' so low
You lookin' like the dead grown old
Anyway the blues just may wash away, if you wait for a rainy day
But you may find, the chance had past you by

I cant do the walk
I cant do the talk
I cant be your friend
Unless I pretend

So give me the song and I'll sing it like I mean it
Give me the words and I'll say them like I mean it

Cos you got my heart in a headlock
You stopped the blood and made my head soft
You've got my heart in a headlock
You stopped the blood and made my head soft
Made my head soft
Made my head soft
Made my head soft
Made my head soft
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh Yeah, yeah, yeah

The first time I really paid attention the lyrics when hearing this song as a single, the "I can't be your friend.." line immediately jumped out at me. To me, there was no other explanation than that the singer/lyricist was gay and was referring to his love for a straight man. Not that everyone doesn't deal with unrequited love and can relate to it; but it's such a common fear among gay men (and presumably women) that not only will the love be unreturned, but that it will in fact destroy your friendship, that I was sure only a gay man would have worded it that way. I googled the band right away and was proven correct.

Needless to say, I relate to it a bit too much...

I see this more like a dialogue between a guy and a girl. Basically the girl is saying "don`t be such a wuss" and the guy replies "but you made me the wuss I am". :D

I totally love this song, i think it would be cool if they only did the piano to! Anywho.. I think this song is about a boy who isnt really outgoing ore social. And he meets this girl and falls totally in love with her, like almost obsessed! And than she is telling him in the song: come on live ur life, missbehave! And hes like: ill do whatever u want, ill be whatever you want me 2 be

I can't do the walk I can't do the talk I can't be your friend Unless I pretend

So he is pretending to be someone else just 2 be her friend or lover.

So give me the song and I'll sing it like I mean it Give me the words and I'll say them like I mean it

See hes lying! He will do everything for her/him (is he gay?)

Cos you got my heart in a headlock You stopped the blood and made my head soft And god knows You've got me sewn

That girl is fucks up his head. He's so obsessed and he's ye sewn!

love to see what somebody else thinksxxx

When he's saying Danny boy that's what a girl is saying to him (Lead singers name is Dan). It's about him meeting a really cool girl and treating her like a queen instead of being himself and living his own life.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
