well i'll be the 1st to comment on this song.. i LOVE this song!! it's AMAZING! --i think that it's about a guy missing a girl b/c she moved..and he still loves her and he misses her alot and wants her to call and say that she misses him to and tell him that she still cares!
^ i have to agree with you, but i think its about someone who got into a fight with someone (first line: I'm trying real hard not to care) but on the inside really wants things to go back to normal

actually, i would take it a little further in depth.
i see it as someone [a guy, by the singer] missing someone [a girl], and they've gone away on a trip of some sort. so he's counting the days until she comes home, like he does every time she goes away. and this part,

seems to make more sense if you think of it as the girl saying the part, 'one day's come and gone, i'll be home soon, etc'. get it? =]
