Worker Bees Lyrics

March on, worker bees!
Know your enemy!

We take our orders given by the queen
We’re not the killers, we’re the worker bees
If you resist us you will feel our sting
Surrender now before the swarm sets in

Protect the hive from enemies!
Protect the hive from enemies!
Follow the herd mentality!
Can we fight to save our souls?

March on, worker bees!
Know your enemy!

A pollination coming from the west,
And in a flash we will invade your nest
Supply of honey flowing bottomless
Play by our rules or you’ll be powerless

Protect the hive from enemies!
Protect the hive from enemies!
Follow the herd mentality!
Can we fight to save our souls?
And we’ll march… along, with our blindfolds on
And we’ll ride… the rails, with our pistols drawn
Can the Lord… above, forgive what we’ve done?
Can we fight to save our souls?

And we’ll march… along, with our blindfolds on
And we’ll ride… the rails, with our pistols drawn
Can the Lord… above, forgive what we’ve done?
Can we fight to save our souls?

Can we fight to save our souls?
Will we die to save our home?

the 2nd verse seems to refer to the US invasion of Iraq, most of the song seems to refer to american society

i totally agree with tazzle, its about war and i believe that its about how when your a soldier you dont have time to question ethics you have to do what your told, you have to be one force not a bunch of individuals. you have to be unified, and just like bees, the queen is is the country that you are fighting for

the give away really is the last line really

Will we die to save our home?

Yes, this song is about the war between the U.S and the middle east and how the U.S army is invading the east and taking thier oil "A pollination coming from the west" The west being the U.S "And in a flash we will invade your nest." The middle east being the nest. "Supply of honey flowing bottomless." Supply of oil for the bush administration. "Play by our rules or you’ll be powerless." If the middle east doesn't do what they say they'll blow the shit out of them.

It's also talking about how the soliders are going to war not knowing what they're really fighting for and how they hope the Lord can forgive them for killing so many people "And we’ll march… along, with our blindfolds on." The soliders marching not knowing what they are fighting for. "And we’ll ride… the rails, with our pistols drawn." Not sure exactly what he's saying there. "Can the Lord… above, forgive what we’ve done?" He's talking (from a soliders perspective) about how they're killing people for an unjust cause and how they wonder if the Lord can ever forgive what they've done.

Another great billy talent song!

Regardless of the of the specific meaning I think this song has a very general and philosophical point. We as a species struggle between individuality and uniformity. The fact that "follow the leader" is everywhere we look weather is work, school, government, fashion, you name it. The never ending search for individuality is the ying to the yang that is the never ending need to be apart of the bigger picture.

This song is about conformity and martyrdom. Live to be like everyone and die for the same cause as everyone. Great song.

it sounds like some of you guys don't get the same feeling as i do. I agree with BillaBLONG! .... this is a very CRITICAL song about the U.S. ... you guys interpret it like "the soldiers have to be a swarm" ... i interpret it like "they are acting like a swarm, brainless and trying to reject responsibility .... i have the feeling that the whole song is about individuals rejecting responsibility by saying "we're NOT the killers, we are (just the poor) workerbees (we just do what we're told, don't blame us)

but .... i guess you guys are U.S. citizens ... so .. that's normal ;) .... i wouldn't say that my interpretation is the only right one, maybe it's really a Anti-War but Pro-Soldier song ... at least feeling into their positions...
