Tenley-Town Lyrics

For everyone…
And sleeping at night.
And you’re good enough.
I’m not gonna eat it.
You wear yourself out.
You’re talking backwards.
You wear yourself out.
You wear yourself out… out.

I thought I was too high.
I fall so low that now I,
I learn
Breaking out the room/break another room/get another room
I learn
Everything’s okay.

Call in the coast guard.
We’re going under
Sooner or later.
They’re going under
On the edges,
They’re going to burn now
Sooner or later.

You can
Mess around my head.
Hold on.
And then tomorrow night
We’ll sleep as on the right.

If this bird gets us home
I’ll never fly again.
And then, I learn
…another room
Hang on.

I think the lyrics are wrong on this. I think it's "You and your cellphone/ you're talking backwards" instead of "you wear yourself out"

I also think he's saying "Hang On" instead of "I learn"

love this song though

Actually, these are the lyrics to This Job Is Killing Me

this song its called "tenley town" , if you have the original CD of the walkmen "this job is killing me" its a completely diferent song. The people from Activision and Tony Hawk's Project 8 got it wrong.

"On the edges, They're going to burn now"

I always thought this line was "and the engines, they're going to burn out"

Keeps with the plane crashing theme in the song.

The walkmen went to high school in DC. There's this one area of DC called tenleytown, and it's mostly teenage kids getting drunk and high, which can be easily interpreted from this song. I also get the feeling of growing up and letting go..
