I think this song is about rape. If it was about taking a girl's virginity, why would he be asking the lord for forgiveness? Rape, however, makes sense. He's in some sort of wicked state of mind (No one knows what goes on behind those eyes). He knows it's a sin (Forgive me, Father). Everybody will find out (the streets will run red). &They both lost in the end, she lost her dignity and he has to live with the guilt and shame.

He could be asking for forgiveness because of lust, or having sexual relations before marraige, which is considered a sin in Christianity, as i'm sure you know.
I dont really think it's about rape though.

So I'm still wondering if this is rape or the girl's first time and they're both feeling a little guilt, mostly her.
