Well alot of males that have had "controlling" partners will understand this. (Sometimes Females)

In the beginning they see fireworks and everything is right. But later on they just loose that spark. The female blames him for letting the relationship go sour, basically he's had enough and just telling her he doesn't have any feelings for her.

I have a new interpretation... perhaps its about a couple, and one went off somewhere for some reason for a bit, and asked her boyfriend to look after her hampster, and then it died, and she comes back and is mad at her boyfriend because her hampster is dead, and in defence he yells:

I SWEAR I NEVER MEANT TO LET IT DIE!

Sorry, pointless comment, but I've been itching to say that for a long time. no reason. but it is about a relationship fizzling.

This is kinda how my relationship with my bf went. I was so in love with him, but then he controlled everything that I did and he cheated on me. I told him that I didn't let our relationship die...he tells me that I didn't really try. I lost my temper and ran out of the door...my last words being"I don't care about anything anymore...I don't care about you anymore"...that's why I love this song, cuz I can really relate to it. I now have a great guy, and we're going to get married^^

Relationships are up and down. And in a lot of relationships, the beginning is the best part, and the end (the break up) tends to be the worst part, the worst feelings, and sometimes the worst sides of someone come out.

i love this song, especailly the guitar part during the verses. it about a bad break up and the girl is really confused about what happened and so he's telling what happened

both people who broke up think it was the other one's fault that the relationship broke up, hes blaming her, shes blaming him... exactly how one of my previous relationships went. he lives half an hour train ride away yet it was always up to me to make that journey, work out where and when we were gonna meet up, and he said i wasnt contributing to the relationship.... and eventually he broke up with me on msn... hee hee hes a bastard.

I agree with a lot of you. i had a GF that done the same thing and then she blamed me and i just quit so this song pretty much stays in my CD player, or iPod.
