Mutiny Lyrics

mutiny!

this is a full blown assault. a cannon blast to mark your fall.

take back your discipline now. this is a genuine revolt. superior, you are inferior. we've risen like we've never risen above before. conformity has no authority. i can agree to compromise. contemptible are your contracts. i will find the line and cross it everytime. contemptible are your labels.

this is a full blown assault.

take back your discipline now. this is a genuine revolt. i am so far from romanced. there's too much business in this. i'm going back to my garage. i have been completely disenchanted. turn my amp up to eleven. six nickel wound strings have saved me again. suits and ties are not to congregate in my sanctuary judged only by my hands.

down here is our time. it's innocent. it is so divine. our music: rewrite not a single line. down here is our time and we will shine. our music: making wishes on your dime this time.

heroes have betrayed. we sing for better days. don't sign our lives away to impure industries.

you're going under. we have come to take it over. so sound the thunder. we have come to take it over now.

sign our band and we'll write you a chorus. we will use your gimmicks if you think they will sell us 'cause we won't survive without your acceptance.

can we be friends?
can we be friends?
can
we
be
friends? mutiny!

in this vast network of sharks and minnows, where the minnows outnumber the sharks a million to one, why is it that we have yet to converge? to take on the upperhand? why have we been so scared?

well not today. not anymore. this is us growing up. still young, but no longer impressionable.
we have come to pillage.
we have come to burn.
we have come to incite the riot.
we have come to take it over!

heroes have betrayed. we sing for better days. don't sign our lives away to impure industries.

This is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard. A proper 'go fuck yourself' anthem. I don't know the politics behind it, but I get the message. Love it.

yeah this song is about wentz trying to sign them to a major label, but he said they had to drop one singer and write more traditionally structured music (like with verse.chorus, verse, chorus)

and this is pretty much them telling wentz to fuck off.

Idk where this whole thing about SYG selling out came about.

just because a band gets popular doesn't mean they sold out, if anything, a band that plays good music deserves to get popular and will get popular whether they want to or not, otherwise there would be no point of them playing.

they still sound exactly the same to me as they did during the Reset EP. and they're songs still have alot of meanng.

so stop your bitching.

haha yea! they finally posted the lyrics up on their site. i had to do it by ear before, fucking hard. kina of a contradiction on the last line 'dont sign our lives away to impure industries' as all the 2 new released tracks are pretty commercial X

"down here is our time"

i agree with +sam man up there, its an awsome song. but the message is ironic considering its pretty mainstream. o well. i still enjoy it. and another thing....theyre label isnt big ....at all... its small actually if i remember correctly? so im not sure where theyre comming from. well maybe someone offered them somthing huge. o well. is good.

my guess is that they got major label attention after the EP and the demo's and everything but they turned them down for eulogy.

its pretty ironic considering how much more pop-influenced thew new album is.

Funny, considering Eulogy is one of the biggest labels for hardcore bands.

eulogy is a very big label. SYG were interviewd and said that eulogy were the most honest labels. maybe before they signed, they had to create more songs accociated with a wider range of public. a pirate theme? pirate songs. theres something the label might of told them. songs 'we're all sellouts' 'dont sign our lives away' they insighting lyrics. all contradictions to keep there hardcore fan base. x

yeah they just seem to be trying to cover themselves for all the people they reckon will be calling em sell-outs after this album. bit lame imo but hey, the musics still top class!
