Over The Shoulder Lyrics

big size, small size
any size, round and round
we need, we take
burn it all to the ground
started over and learned to walk
we teach you how to talk
please try and understand
we're helping all mankind
we use them a while then it's over the shoulder
we use them a while then it's over the shoulder

we are serious
o, serious
dollar here, dollar there
dollars flying everywhere
we're only here to please
stop the killing, trust me
we'll only be a while
big while, big big smile
we use them a while then it's over the shoulder
we use them a while then it's over the shoulder

we have in our hands
every woman and every man
things are gonna go far
down a real big fast car
and what you see is what you get
keep 'em hungry, you bet
you need security
to keep you from the enemy
we use them a while then it's over the shoulder
we use them a while then it's over the shoulder

This song is about a record company using people to make money and then casting them aside.

It could be, because by what I heard his first album was because the record company that signed him had a serious boner for a synthpop album. So he did it...though he sure as hell isn't (still to this day) happy with it. And this was the second album, so it fits together well.

There is also a rumor that Al would go as far as to destroy every copy of "With Sympathy" in the world if he could, and I wouldn't doubt that it's true.

If anyone's ever seen the video to this song, it (the song, along with the video) as the 5th. line in the last verse plainly states, means: WYSIWYG. Yep, Al Jourgensen walks through a typical '80s American supermarket throwing this-and-that indiscriminately in his shopping cart--how brillianty simple is that for a video to a song called "Over The Shoulder"?! LOL

Please, I would like to know the meaning of this song, any explanation?

think of a politician talking, or any corporate head, the whole song, every line, is the kind of things such a person would say:

you need us, we'll take care of everything it's under control, just do as we say the economy is good, just trust us,

100% the political-speak of those times (and unfortunately, other times)

Is this Al singing? Holy shit he can change his voice around! :D

(from 3rd verse)

"Things are gonna go far Down a real big fast car"

nonsense is ok, but i thought it sounds more like signs of wealth and prosperity:

o big cigar, go far diamond ring, big fast car
