Seriously - have boy kill boy covered one of my favourite songs...i have to hear it!!!!
Well now that I've tracked it down, I can say it's apretty good cover...very similar to the original.
The simple meaning is that the protagonist and his girlfriend have simply switched the stereotypical gender roles...he obviously likes her more than she does and she's saying how it's different for girls. She doesn't feel the same - and it's usually the other way around as the men are conventionally the ones scared of commitment.

I thinks this song is all about how gender changes everything. When guys finally do it, they get glorified and gain respect from their peers, but when girls finally do it everyones all "shes a slut" or "shes so easy". see? It way differant for girls. It was the wierdest thing...I heard it was a b-side to Suzie (and I still don't know if this is true!) and I went looking everywhere in town for the single, but it had just left the charts so I couldn't find it in any of the shops. Feeling defeated, I decided to just buy the latest Q magazine instead as it had a free CD of 80s covers...and guess what was on there! Was very freaky! :]
