I believe the missing lyric is "Love is, your life, in film."

I always wondered what was going on in the life of Gary Numan at the time he wrote this song. This, and The Angel Wars made me wonder what sort of scarring events he was living through. His music has always haunted me with his dichotimous yearning for connection and yet a need for some sort of isolation. He seems at times to crave human connectivity, yet fears (justifyably so, at times) the betrayal and emotional heartache such connections bring. No Gary Numan song has ever failed to make me think about what I was listening to.

Numan sings "You Don't Know Me At All", and yet he bares himself to the listener in such a way that I feel I certainly do know, or at least understand what he is saying at the moment, and sometimes that brief understanding is enough.
