Rock And Roll, Part One Lyrics
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Can you still recall in the juke box hall
When the music played
And the world span 'round to a brand new sound
In those far off days
In their blue suede shoes, they would scream and shout
As they sang the blues, let it all hang out
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Little Queenie bopped at the high school hop
Dancing to the beat
With her U.S. Male and her pony tail
She looked so sweet
Times are changing fast, but we won't forget
Though the age has passed they'll be rockin yet
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
When the music played
And the world span 'round to a brand new sound
In those far off days
As they sang the blues, let it all hang out
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Dancing to the beat
With her U.S. Male and her pony tail
She looked so sweet
Though the age has passed they'll be rockin yet
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll

To me, this song is all about you know, rocking AND rolling. THe lyrical genius that is Gary GLitter had the foresight to talk about both ROCK and ROLL, which I think makes this song a classic. Had he just talked about rock, the roll crowd would be offended. Had he talked roll- well, that's plain CRAZY.
Genius.
SImply Genius.
