Project 86 – The Forces Of Radio Have Dropped A Viper Into The Rhythm Section Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This probably has to do with Alex Albert leaving the band prior to recording this album. Andrew was always more concerned with musicality and Alex with sales, it would seem (according to IADFH). |
Thrice – Child of Dust Lyrics | 16 years ago |
MDBERG13: "this is actually really depressing to me. thrice has basically been my favorite band since their punk days with artist in the ambulance and false sense of security (or whatever that one was called) now i really don't like their new stuff at all" seriously, get out of this forum. If Thrice is your favorite band, why couldn't you do an Amazon.com search for the title "the illusion of safety"? Sorry if anything besides punk blows your mind. Throw out your Good CHarlotte records and get some taste. |
Thrice – Moving Mountains Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Props to the Christian interpretations on this song for being tactful and insightful. F minus to the word "powerkful". |
Thrice – Broken Lungs Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'm so honestly appalled there is a debate about this. Regardless of what right wing or left wing america thinks about 9/11, that is what this song is about. This is actually one of the simplest Thrice songs to find a direct meaning to. There is very little vague symbolism here. And to say that Dustin doesn't write political songs? Ever listened to The Artist in the Ambulance? Holy cow ignorant. |
Thrice – Firebreather Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think Sabio nailed it |
Thrice – Digital Sea Lyrics | 16 years ago |
My stab at this song is that it could be about pornography/adultery. awoke, cold and alone Adrift in the open sea Caught up in regrets and tangled in nets Instead of your arms wrapped around me And I wept but my tears are anathema here Just more water to fill my lungs I hear someone scream "God what is it we have done? and then the idea of a digital sea... internet pornography. Just my idea, but it seems like it could hold weight. |
Gary Glitter – Rock And Roll, Part One Lyrics | 17 years ago |
To me, this song is all about you know, rocking AND rolling. THe lyrical genius that is Gary GLitter had the foresight to talk about both ROCK and ROLL, which I think makes this song a classic. Had he just talked about rock, the roll crowd would be offended. Had he talked roll- well, that's plain CRAZY. Genius. SImply Genius. |
Anberlin – There Is No Mathematics To Love And Loss Lyrics | 17 years ago |
when the lyrics are right, this song seems to be a about a communicationless relationship.... divorce |
Anberlin – A Whisper and a Clamor Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Even though these lyrics are wrong, when I listen to this song I think of how much hate mail Stephen Christian gets from his Christian fans. (People listen but never really get what's going on now) (Act of public depression) and just wants people to step back, enjoy the music and get the bigger picture, that he is a man who makes mistakes but tries. The OTHER thing I can come up with is the continuing theme of stephen feeling heartbroken for the orphans and widows (see: modestywritersguild.blogspot.com) and this song is directed at the people who think he's a prick, but he really cares about the children who have no voice (there's a clamor in your whispering). This CD is REALLY hard lyrically but anyone else have ideas? PS: THIS SONG IS REALLY GOOD LOL is not worth putting on here |
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Grim Goodbye Lyrics | 17 years ago |
OK so, having listened to it, the best interpretation I can get is that it's another song about Christianity vs. Addiction. (Or his wife vs. addiction). As much as I'm going to get a "shut up f***in god boy no one wants to hear it. THIS SONG IS GOOD LOL." Just stop being ignorant... rednecks... this song basically opens up about addictions... be it sex or drugs or porn or whathaveyou. The author is clearly talking to the addiction, telling it not to bring him down. The situation changes when he finds (a savior) (his wife) and throughout the rest of the song he is struggling with the consequences of his addictions and dependencies. "and I feel that I've strayed too long" "darkness is fading in, and darkness is real" "Fate seems to recreate, I just can not escape, Something holds me down and makes me act a way I can't explain Even now I can feel it coming over me choking me, as I'm falling behind You can say you know me, but you have no clue what my dreams could show you " and on and on et cetera... that is what this song means to me, and the second last stanza about righteousness gives pretty good evidence too. |
System of a Down – I.E.A.I.A.I.O. Demo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't know how SOAD gets away with writing crap lyrics like this. I don't care how artistic you are... this is crap. |
Project 86 – Spy Hunter Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is about schwab being molested by a pastor, i hear. makes a lot of sense that way too. |
Project 86 – Sioux Lane Spirits Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i agree with all of that, except that the lines "digs the shiv into a blessed place." and "now she has your eyes" are too coincidental. i tihnk it means abortion, but i also think that "now she has your eyes." also refers to the temptation as well, cause schwab is amazing like that. |
Project 86 – From December Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is about his grandparents, who showed him God. The tree is literal and still exists. |
