Seems to be about our killer from In Absentia. I think its basicly about how no one understands him and how his mind is so messed up. The last part, On the mountain side Hold me in your gaze But it's over now 'Cos I got kids to raise reminds me of somone having an afair in the country and then leaving because they have kids with someone else(mabey a wife). Im sure it has a meaning much deeper but that was the basic idea i had.

I don't know what it means but it's one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm out driving becasue I can't sleep.

The meaning, hmm... I guess it's about a person that used to be very mental and depressive. But as you see in the last lines he tries to repress this way of thinking and feeling because of the responsibility he has with his kids. He starts to forget about this profundity to have no negative influence on them. But in the chorus he always tries to call this side of him back, because he realized that he needs it.
I have no idea what this means; it almost seems surreal, or a stream of consciousness-type thing. Wonderful song though, good thinking music too.
I thought it was about a kidnapping almost. In borrowed clothes, so he looks different. And deep down inside he knows he is a girl, could refer to how the kidnapper has disguised him to look like a completely different person.
i think the is about a man, who is schizophrenic or something.. the first four lines describes a disease, he could be in a hospital ("motorcade") and they search the disease ("under the radar") but can't find it.. maybe because it's not a physical disease.. the rest of the lyrics he talks about himself.. he's maybe a tranny and "Shards of light come down/Stillness in the air" his secret came out, somebody saw him on his feminine side. the he talks to himself, to banish this side, cause he has kids and so on..
Couldn't it be possible that the lyrics describe just the effects of a chloroform anesthesia. The insanity and incoherent are possibly caused by a state of consciousness quite related to the effects of the dissociative narcotic diethylether. Maybe a raper or murderer just narcotized his victim and these are her last thoughts running through her brain befor fading to the narcosis. Well this was my first notion when hearing the melody without focussing the lyrics...
I think dickprick kinda has it...I don't think that the song is about the killer himself whose action are widely described in In Absentia... the killer has just narcotized the victim or maybe is even killing the victim by forcing him/her in someplace with an high concentration of chloroform in the air (this way of killing people has been already used since it provides a slow and gradual death). So the whole song is about the last thoughts that rush trough the mind of the victim, in an hallucinated stream of consciousness... beautiful, anyway, as anything by Steven Wilson....

I think the line "A boy in borrowed clothes, knows he is a girl" could potentially refer to something like the serial killer in Silence of the Lambs, where the serial killer would murder because they wanted to be a woman, but were born a man.
