Zachary and Jennifer Lyrics
Oh, we want to call him Zachary
We'll raise him in the mountains
He'll bathe in the crystal fountains
Shining laughter in the sun
And we want to call her Jennifer
She'll dance in fields of flowers
She'll sing in summer showers
Lending music to the time
Oh, we want to live forever
In this mirror sea tomorrow
All the joy and all the sorrow
We can only hope to share
We'll raise him in the mountains
He'll bathe in the crystal fountains
Shining laughter in the sun
She'll dance in fields of flowers
She'll sing in summer showers
Lending music to the time
In this mirror sea tomorrow
All the joy and all the sorrow
We can only hope to share

This song is about John Denver's adopted children Zachary and Anna Kate. I'm not quite sure why Jennifer takes the place of Anna Kate, but I'm pretty sure that Jennifer is what John and his wife planned on naming her before they met her. Just my thoughts- does anyone else have a clue?
John wrote this song years before Zak came along. Ironically enough, Zak married a lady named Jennifer. In John's Autobiography he said that he dreamed about exactly what Zak looked like before he ever had seen him.
