I'll give my point of view out for this song

"Too long in the same place I'm sinking into this town." - It means he's getting sick of being in the same place as he has been for years [[same with me >.>]]

"Before i break away from me Cuz this place is my lobotomy." - This part sorta confuses me. "Before I break away from me" clearly means before he loses his mind. But a lobotomy is a surgical incision to the brain when nerves in a body has failed, so I guess it means that the place he's in is getting too boring to live.... I'm not sure =/ so dun make fun of me >.>

"Imagine we were dead Counting all the things we never did." - Means that he's imagining what all he didn't do that he could have before he died to make his life more pleasing and enjoyable.

"I remember when you told me I should live like i'm dying And not to close my eyes While everything burns."

The first two lines means that someone had told him that he should get off his ass and do something as much as he's not. You know, he would be doing nothing, moping around, when someone tells him to get up and enjoy life a lot more. The last two lines... I think it means... Don't ignore the fact that his life is passing away quickly.

What are we waiting for? --Duh, why are they sitting around doing nothing? These years are dying slowly, -- They need to do something before their lives are gone Today is still in front of us -- They still have their life to live And we're breakin out --They're gonna live to the fullest Cuz today is now or never. --Yeah, now or never xD

"I can't contemplate the earth All while my heads in the sand Cuz i've been buried alive So take my bleeding hands And breathe life into me Cuz right now i'm suffocating. So imagine we were dead Counting all the things we never did."

This means that he can't go out and view the earth and do what he wants because of some problem he may have, so he wants someone [[breathe life into him because he's suffocating]] to give him an optimistic boost so they can go out and do enjoyable things

"I don't want a life of agony I wont be another tragedy And close my eyes while everything burns. And i won't pretend i don't exist Invisible until i turn to dust, Open your eyes we're still alive." [[I don't want a life of agony]] He doesn't want to sit in his house and watch a t.v that only picks up static xD [[I won't be another tradgedy]] He doesn't want to be another one of those people who have wasted their lives doing nothing who had potential but didn't attempt to make a change in the world The rest of that verse just plainly means that he doesn't want to ignore his life or his potential and he plans on making a change in the world and doing something to fulfill his life.

"Stannding still is criminal And never lasts forever. The safest place in life is now, Today's the day we're breakin out.." This verse means that doing nothing with your life will get you nowhere and you don't live forever, you'll regret that you didn't do anything while you were alive

This is my point of view on this sing, I'm no poetic genious. I'd really like to hear other's opinions on what this song means

This is, by far, my favourite Madina Lake song ever. I live by the words "The safest place in life is now, today's the day we're breaking out"

This song, to me is about living life to it's fullest, it's an inspirational song, and that's why it's my favourite. But to tie it into the whole Madina Lake story I think it's one of two things.
1) This is how he originally meets Adalia (she breathes life into him) or 2) This is both of them trying to escape Madina Lake because they realize they won't reach their full potential if they stay.

But in general, I think it's just about getting up, and doing something with your life or else you're gonna end up dying with no real experiences, regrets, and disappointment.

i agree with all of you guys. i remember that one country song that was "live like you were dying" and it just reminds me of that... although Madina Lake can rock it out better than any country song. I think it's pretty much saying that you can't keep putting things off until tomorrow or else you'll never do them and regret it later that you didn't. motivational and amazing. not to mention that the whole madina lake concept is awesome.
