This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
You bit me, bit me, bit me, ow
You bit me, bit me, now I want more
Standing in the hall
Kicking out the wall
Its all been sent to recover hell
The bangers and the mash
The negatives for cash
You're either in the club, baby, or you're not
Whatever turns you on
Whatever gets you off
Chief of police or vice-chancellor
Lord and lady, blah blah
The vicar or the judge
You are dancing to my little red book
Because you bit me, bit me, bit me, ow
I got the poison, poison, and I want more
If you are on top
Then it is a long drop
The pyramid is power
We're changing the hour
If you are on the top
Then it is a long drop
If you stare into the dark
The black will stare back
Back into your soul
The cheque came through
The cheque came through
The cheque, cheque, cheque
The cheque came through
The cheque came through
The cheque, cheque, cheque
The cheque came through
I'm taking you down
I'm taking you down
I'm taking you down
When I go down
I'm taking you down
I'm taking you down
I'm standing in the hall
I'm kicking at the wall
Because you bit me, bit me, bit me, ow
Poison, I got the poison, I got the poison now
I got the poison
You bit me, bit me, now I want more
Standing in the hall
Kicking out the wall
Its all been sent to recover hell
The bangers and the mash
The negatives for cash

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
I'm gonna have to say thats one of the most absurd interpretations I've ever heard. Just because the song is sexy, doesn't mean its about sex. I feel like Radiohead is definitely above the level of writing about such paltry and simple subjects. but, to each their own.
at least, its not about thom having sex.
It can be taken to mean that power these days is derived from who you're sleeping with, or by being 'in' with whoever is 'sexy' at the right time. Sex is money. Money is power. Power is sexy.
It's about revenge.
You bit me, I've got the Poison.
I'm taking you down with me.
Like a virus.
Poison can feel good, empowering....
Feed you.
Ever hate anyone but like it?

It's political as well, that's given.
Pyramid.
Long fall from the top.
For those that claw their way to the top, fucking everyone and everything
along the way.
Then....AHHHHHHAAAHHHH!!!
plop.
There goes another one.
They do do this to themselves as well. I like what someone said about it being about getting caught with your pants down.
Misrepresentation, appealing to the masses......something musicians do sometimes as well......hmmm...

Rises and falls from power, climbing ladders, stepping on fingers with razor blade heels, kissing ass, paying the price, owning, being owned.
Cutting throats.

It's not about sex.

I don't think Thom is going to take down the Government, but it's OK to dream.
It's the Uni bombers theme song.
(joke)

I like to follow this song up with Talking Heads - Blind.
