Turn It Again Lyrics
Some of us get a little
And some a lot
We've got to make due
With what ever we got
We get it hot we cool it down
And then we pass it around
You can dance
For the sake of a golden day
Take a chance on getting rid
Of whatever's in your way
Next stop big hop
Is turning night into day
Sometimes when
I'm lying there all alone
I think of every little nothing
That we could own
To overthrow all of you
Who have overgrown
All my friends
Like to spend
Days on end
On the mend
I turn to you, I turn into
And then I turn it again
Here we go
All we know
Heavy load,
Start to float
Without a doubt, we turn it out
And then we turn it again
Let's dance all night and day now
Get down and show the way how
I want to show you that I care
Two things I want to say now
You make it all ok now
I need to know that you are there
I've come to learn
Whatever time I can find to spend
Taking flight into
Whatever light we bend
Out on the street
I get a beat and then
I turn it to ten
Lace boots and the
Ladies of Kazakstan
Kick 'em high to the sky
All of this just because we can
I turn to Cuba
Then Aruba then the Dominican
We've got to move it
If we want to do our best
We've got to shake it
If we want to keep it fresh
I'm turning down
All the heavy psychology
To cut a rug
And I make no apology
I turn a cheek, I turn a key
And then I turn it for free
We've got to move it
Just a little to hit the spot
A whirling dervish in a flurry
A fox to trot
Come clown around, a robot
Doin' the astronaut
And some a lot
We've got to make due
With what ever we got
We get it hot we cool it down
And then we pass it around
For the sake of a golden day
Take a chance on getting rid
Of whatever's in your way
Next stop big hop

john absolutely shreds his guitar to pieces on this one - fucking POTENT solo.
I like this song a lot.
It was interesting here John talking about it. He says that during the verses Flea is playing the same chords over and over, and he is playing different chords, THEN, during the chorus, Flea is playing different chords, and he is playing the same chords over and over.
He says he noticed this after they finished the song. I'll have to look at the DVD again tho to put down the meaning.
@adam07 I hear it now actually! now that you've pointed it out :O

jeez this song is amazing, like how is it even possible for a song to be this good it kind of seems like it's about the chilis keeping their youth and being ok with that..they don't have to really grow up anytime soon, and its better to keep their youth than to be like people that have "overgrown"
I thought this song was about smoking weed the first time i heard it
To me this song is about how change is necessary in life. They, as musicians, can't stay the same for ever ( We've got to move it / If we want to do our best / We've got to shake it / If we want to keep it fresh). They have to try new things in order to keep creating art and grow as both people and artists. That's why there will never be a second BSSM (like many people would like... not me though... and I love that album).
God I fucking love this song, Frusciante said he was really influenced by hendrix on this album, and you can really hear it on this song. The solo is pure hendrix influence... Everytime I put this song on by then end I'm totally bouncin around rockin out. There's so much feeling put into this song especially by frusciante, I dont see how you can not be moved by it. The lyrics are great too, to mee it's just about the highs and lows we all gotta deal with, you just got keep going "and turn it again"
wow the solo is amazing
i love it
Awesome song! Totally different than anything RHCP have ever done. This is my favorite song on Stadium Arcadium.
this is my favourite song by chilis ever. as for the meaning... it seems to me to be about every individual person on the quest for power, with its ups and downs everyone fails then succeeds and thats the way it is, and the chilis say thats ok and they dont give a shit, so they write a song about it.
i think its awesome how the verse sounds like talking heads... my favorite song on the album by far, seriously, how is it possible for something that you listen to to generate so much freakin energy? awesome.
