Hard Rock Hallelujah Lyrics
Hard Rock Hallelujah!
The saints are crippled
On this sinners' night
Lost are the lambs with no guiding light
The walls come down like thunder
The rocks about to roll
It's The Arockalypse
Now bare your soul
All we need is lightning
With power and might
Striking down the prophets of false
As the moon is rising
Give us the sign
Now let us rise up in awe
Rock 'n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
Demons and angels all in one have arrived
Rock 'n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
In God's creation supernatural high
The true believers
Thou shall be saved
Brothers and sisters keep strong in the faith
On the day of Rockoning
It's who dares, wins
You will see the jokers soon'll be the new kings
All we need is lightning
With power and might
Striking down the prophets of false
As the moon is rising
Give us the sign
Now let us rise up in awe
Rock 'n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
Demons and angels all in one have arrived
Rock 'n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
In God's creation supernatural high
Wings on my back
I got horns on my head
My fangs are sharp
And my eyes are red
Not quite an angel
Or the one that fell
Now choose to join us or go straight to Hell
Hard Rock Hallelujah!
Rock 'n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
Demons and angels all in one have arrived
Rock 'n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
In God's creation supernatural high
The saints are crippled
On this sinners' night
Lost are the lambs with no guiding light

This song, like so many metal songs, is simple about self empowerment, the idea is that you feel good when you lsiten to it, you feel powerfull, heh.
More specifically, its about metal taking over the world and kicking the asses of pop etc.
when he says 'Brothers and sisters keep strong in the faith' hes reffering to the 'Old Gaurd', metallers, the alternative type that love this kind of music etc.
rocks out :)
This song is about Hard Rock coming back. Cause at the moment, its all pop rock, rap, pop, indie, NME bands and more bubble grum crap.
So this song is about hard rock comin' back.
This song to win Eurovision.
It's more original than most Eurovision songs, and infinitely better than UK's choice this year, Daz Sampson. For fuck's sake, the dude's like 40-odd singing "Teenage Life"... I'd tell him to grow up but if he got any older he'd die.
Great song, good choice to win the Eurovision Song Contest.
I'm from the UK and although our choice (Daz Sampson) was alright, rap music is never going to win a contest for SINGING. There's many other and better artists out in the UK, why we chose him over the others I'll never know. Maybe they were high on something?
"More specifically, its about metal taking over the world and kicking the asses of pop etc."
Amen.
I'm kinda surprised that this song has gotten 27 comments and no one's even thought of putting what they think the song means... xD
"Lost are the lambs with no guiding light" "The true believers thou shall be saved" "Striking down the prophets of false" "In God's creation supernatural high" "Not quite an angel or the one that fell"
I wouldn't say I'm the biggest christian out there, but I know that this is of some of the things found in the Bible. Not to mention that Mr. Lordi and Kita are christian I would guess this song to have a christian meaning inside of it. Also, when Mr. Lordi declined the accusations of their band being Satanic, he said "A Satanic band would never write songs such as Devil is a Loser and Hard Rock Hallelujah!"
and in the "The saints are crippled" part, It kinda sounds like they're making fun of Catholics. ;D
So that's my guess; Christian message, added with a bit of the power of rock n' roll.
I've been brought up in the church of England and became a methodist whenI had my first child. I wouldn't say i'm an average christian. The other day I was at my sons's parents house; some of their boys were listening to this- I had to ask who this was, because I was in total shock what I felt from this music. It was like someone was shooting me, no kiddin. It's not even possible to explain the damage in some music; I don't know the poor state of those who listen to these kinds of music. It's not even about the loudness or hatred you get, it's something i'd never be able to explain. Before people blame God and Christians, they should be aware of what's around that' s more damaging to the soul.
Well discerned, well done! I always wondered what it meant ".....FIERY DARTS" in the scriptures. I couldn't relate it to trials or temptations. It bothered me for a long time, until I met a friend who left some kind of cult and explained what they were doing and what she was forced to do there. She explained exactly what is happening here, same. Sad to say that Ron L Hubbard was into these things and that a lot of Scientologists who lead are into it. A lot of innocent and good Scientologists don't even know about it, but think...

A lot of innocent and good Scientologists don't even know about it, but think they are doing good for the planet as they were told. How many people, groups, cults.... are into sad stuff to destroy others? That is sick! I didn't know about it as I am now aware, but I could always discern places, music... when there is something not right. I agree with you about the shooting/ arrows, that is exactly it.
Singsong, you make a good point, but look at these.
The true believers Thou shall be saved Brothers and sisters keep strong in the faith On the day of Rockoning It's who dares, wins You will see the jokers soon'll be the new kings
The christians aren't jokers. Lordi talks about striking down the false prophets. This is a new religion. The religion of hard rock and metal!
"WORST LYRICS EVER! fucking bollocks, who uses arockalypse? we are rock angels, I kno they're foreign but fucking hell, wat lyrics can be worse?? (other than pop lyrics) AAARGH!"
Why do people concentrate so much on the lyrics? I could care less what the song said as long as it sounds good as a whole. If you're letting the lyrics ruin a song for you, then you're missing out, in my opinion.
I realize that, but if the lyrics of a song kill it for you, then in my opinion you're missing out on the song as a whole. I actually liked the Day of Rockening and the Arockalypse bits, it brings back the part of rock referring to itself in songs and re-enforces their idea of Hard Rock coming back.
