This song is a lot of fun. Very 80s..

Lyrics sound very general/vague though. Could be about a girl, or a job, or anything.

Talks about a guy who was so caught up by a stimulating dream, and was disappointed by the fact that the girl in his head only exist in his fantasy.

An awesome awesome song to sing in a shower--especially on the chorus part of the song. hehe...

I have only heard the full length of this song once, but I think everyone should know how incredibly unoriginal it is. The song is so catchy because the group completely ripped the beat from "(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" by The Kinks, and that, in my opinion, is pathetic. "Paralyzed" is called the best song off the Rock Kills Kid CD, yet it can't even be called their own. I'm not criticizing the song because I want to offend anyone who enjoys the group's music, but because I think it's sad that Rock Kills Kid can't give credit where credit is deserved.

Makes a lot of sense and it's kind of what I'm dealing with atm.

First stanza says it all, it occurs to him that he's isolated from everyone else and when he tries to break free from it he gives up because it takes a lot of work to do it. Later on he says "I'm paralyzed, I'm paralyzed/The only way to cope/Is to realize" which means he's staying sane only by realizing his problem and having hope that he can get out of it but everytime he tries he's held back, repeating the cycle over and over.

And yeah, a shame the beat is ripped off from The Kinks, but Tucker was probably influenced by it because he was into punk

Heh, sounds like sleep paralysis which happens shortly after falling asleep, or before falling asleep which is believed to be as a visit from the "old hag."

100% agree with Kirbsta and Brenonsoh about Paralyzed and Superman by the Kinks. Had just emailed the friend that recommended Paralyzed to me, saying the same thing, then went online to see if there was any other mention of it, or even a lawsuit over it. One ironic thing: look at what happened to Christopher "Superman" Reeves? (paralyzed). Almost makes me wonder if the rip-off was intentional for anyone that could make the connection?
