Mary Dress Super Hero Lyrics

I was in the other room
when hansome was getting leather and laces
couldn't save the family
cause heroes wear masks
and lycra
out out out out out, mary get out
cause your freezing
in in in in, brother get in
get your head kicked in in in and in
cause is in in and in

down down down down
I heard you fell down
and you scraped your knee
up up up up
pick yourself up
you get a plaster on on on your cut
cause its sewn up and up
sewn up is sewn up

"wishing it was you wishing it was you wishing it was you"

so you've got yourself in a hole
and you can't get out
I won't be there
I can't be around
so hold me down
and I'll let you know
about the places we can't go
I won't let go, I won't hold you back
cause I'm falling away
I'm paying the price and I'm willing to pay
so willing to pay the price that you pay
and the reason I can't stay
cause you live so far away

wishing it was you
wishing it was you
wishing it was you
wishing it was you
woe woe wishing it was you
woe woe wishing it was you

so out out out out Mary... get out
cause you're freezing
and in the end
brother get in
brother get in
brother get in
brother get in

i think youll find it is about his grandmother, and it originally was called mary dress super hero, and then they changed it before they went mainstream

Anyone know about song meaning? More than its about his grandma? Cos I really like the lyrics, & they seem to be kinda deep - just don't know what they're about!

It's, "I won't let go, and I won't hold you back. I pay the price, and I'm willing to pay."

I don't know what it's about, but I sure like it.

It's "Heard you fell down" not "hold yourself down".

This is my favourite song on the album, it is so deep, especially the end. I saw them live recently and they played this and it was amazing.

In between he sings: 'I'm whishing it was you'

The end, from 'So you've got yourself in a hole' to 'you live so far away', that is sooo beautiful.

and i think its "heard you fell down" not hold yourself down, and "so hold me down, I'll let you know, about the places we can't go"

If im judging this by the first verse, this might seem really wrong. but to me it sounds like a song about a prostitute. Maybe this guy was using a prostitute or maybe the prostitute was a member of the family, like a sister or something. "The places we cant go" because people know her there as a prostitute.

or maybe the brother is using a prostitute - "Mary," and his brother is trying to protect him because hes got himself into a hole, but he cant do much to help him because he lives so far away. Maybe the guy in the song is a younger brother he feels responsible for but now cant do much to help him. He tries to use money to help him, reflecting the money his brother has wasted on "Mary". I think the brother needs help and sees mary as a super hero to help him out of the hole, but Mary is dressed in "leather and laces" rather than "masks and lycra" that real heroes wear. he seems deluded and reall needs help which his brother is trying to give

this may be really wrong and completely nothing to do with a grandmother, i reckon this song could go in many directions
