I feel like I've heard of a band called Crutchfield Tongs before...
Update... Crutchfield is a consumer electronics corporation. So... "Crutch Field Tongs" becomes "Consumer Electronic Gripping Devices." I don't get it.
Actually you're pretty close, the crutchfield tong refers to a medical device that looks sort of like a claw crane. It's drilled into your skull on one end and attached to the headboard of a hospital bed on the other. Made to realign your spine or something. Funny thing is that the first time I heard the song I got the impression of being stretched across a minefield. Those spinal cracks just never fail to send chills up the proper apparatus.
