I think this songs about how people are hurt so much over everything that meanings of what happens blinds them from the truth of the world and there problems
I believe that this song is about losing a loved one and not being able to deal with the pain and shock. the person lies to themself that the person they have lost isnt gone because the truth of the loss is too painful for them to handle.
Sounds like his girlfreind or someone close to him has died.
This song is a lot like whats happening to me now. I keep trying to keep life where it is, but it has to move on. Change must happen, no matter how hard it is to deal with it. The chorus is especialy important to me, this really isnt what i am, and every time something goes wrong in change it hurts and i end up stumbling around in the darkness trying to find my way, and all i can do is apologise.
Could be about someone you love, but they have changed and arent the same person and has left. And the memory of what they the person used to be haunts him. Its like when you have a girlfriend and are in love, but she changes and evenually the whole thing is over. Like you love who she used to be but dislike who she is now. Another meaning is mabey you called it off w/ your G/F and now she is having sex or going out with someone else just for spite, but you forgive her anyway and realize it was a mistake to call it off (This isn't what you really are Blindfolded through the hurt)
I kind of agree with what everyone else is saying about this song. This song is kinda like my life right now. To me this song is about pretending everything is alright, when you know nothing is ok. The chorus really sells that to me. "This isn't what you really are blindfolded through the hurt" To me at least this means that you know something is happening but you're intentionally making yourself unaware of it. But as the song progresses the person is starting to let go. "Empty still frames turning the page" maybe the person is looking at pictures and realizing that they're really gone. Just my opinion..I"m probably way off
