In the Beginning Lyrics
This story ends
In bloodshed
The face I love
The city Im from
The persons Ive met
The persons Ive let down
But a hero never turns around
Its nice to see youre moving on
I know its hard to carry on
But its just never what it was
In the Beginning
How did this start?
And where did we begin
In a ball of fire
And stars and suns
And that brings me here, now
Where my hearts caving in
A tornado whips in around the poles
And its raining
In a Ball of Fire
In bloodshed
The face I love
The city Im from
The persons Ive met
The persons Ive let down
But a hero never turns around
I know its hard to carry on
But its just never what it was
In the Beginning
And where did we begin
In a ball of fire
And stars and suns
And that brings me here, now
Where my hearts caving in
A tornado whips in around the poles
And its raining

I agree muphin. this is a better album than logic, though I love logic a lot.
Yet another sad relationship song from the stills, but this time set to a happy beat. its an appropriate first song on the album because it pretty much sets the mood for the rest of the album...breakups that sound happy but are lyrically depressing ;P
I find this song extremely super uber dramatic. He sings of two things here: the beginning of time (ball of fire), and his heart breaking. Like they compare! haha It's like, "Oh God my heart hurts so bad, is this where the ball of fire eventually has led up to? depressing but hysterically ridiculous.
I don't think this is about a relationship at all, though anyone can apply their own meaning. I just see no sign what-so-ever of it having to do anything with an ex-lover.
I think that this song is mostly about life.
"How did this start? And where did we begin In a ball of fire And stars and suns And that brings me here, now"
I think this lyric is referring to how earth was created and how humans gradually came to be. I love how bizarre it is that they go from describing the logic of it all to describing a human's feelings and emotions, which to us are so irrelevant to science.
It actually reminds me of another Stills lyric: "Logic will break your heart forever, be brave."
so different from their debut.....i get a rufus wainwright/wilco/our lady peace influence going on, but dont take my word for it...
It's so much BETTER than Logic!
First he's talking about moving forward, not dwelling on the past.
Then he's talking about how it can be hard to move forward, but it's not like life is ever going to be easy.
That last part I don't get o_o
This is a sweet song though ^_^
i think its about a relationship, it starts off witha bang and everythings amazing, and it all goes down hill
This song should be named 'In the ball of fire". Thats what it symbolize to me, The artist's take on the world about relationships which are hard to carry on. but at the same time it can mean u many different meanings in subtext realities. The reason for me, The music is psychedelic at its best.
