Wow. This song is exactly what I'm going through right now. At least my interpreation of it. In the beginning the person is reminiscing about what amazing times the person and their ex had together and how the feelings haven't died but how for one reason or another they can't be together. The "I was born to tell you I love you, and I am torn to do what I have to" is the person having to move on from their ex even though they don't want to because the feelings are still there but for some reason they can't be together...

"I'm tired of being all alone and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home" ... This is the person saying how they can't take being alone anymore and that they can't wait for their ex to come back to them.. in my case its I can't wait around for my childhood sweetheart anymore.. we both love each other with everything we've had.. but he leaves the continent in a few months and he doesn't even live anywhere close to me now.. and I've met someone... so I love him, but I don't know how to tell him I'm not waiting anymore... I think 5 years is a long time to wait... I can't wait another two years... </3.

THIS IS MY STORY ABOUT THIS SONG. I was dating a girl for 8 months, she was always bothering me never leaving me alone, calling texting wanting to hang out all the time and it drove me nuts. We broke up for a week or so after 5 months of dating because she was very clingy and didnt want me to go anywhere unless i took her with me. after a good week of me missing her i asked her to take me back and she did. She said she wasnt going to be like that anymore. After 2 months we got back together it started up again but i let it slide because i knew how much i would miss her if i broke up with her again. Finally one day i had had enough. I told her it was over and that we would never get back together because i wasnt ready to make any strong committments to her. She acted crazy and would continue to tell her friends that we were still together. one night she had texted me to look for her a cd when i went to walmart my phone had been screwing up and i couldnt scroll down to see what the cd was. So i ignored it and we didnt talk for a month straight. by then I had gotten a new phone and i saw her in town one nite and decided i would text her again to see how she was doing. we actually talked that nite on the phone for 3 hours talking about how we missed one another and how i would change and that i was starting to really miss what we had. She said we should hang out that coming saturday night. I talked with her on the phone on a tuesday. we were to meet and have dinner 4 days later, sadly she was killed in a car accident 3 days later. i have never missed anyone more in my entire life.

I did not go to her funeral. I felt that i didnt deserve to. So the day of her funeral i remembered on my other phone that i had was some videos i took of her laying on the couch covering herself up because she thot she looked bad that day. I watched them constantly and still do to this day.

I was going through some of thee messages that was on that phone and came across the one about the cd she wanted me to look for her. The phone that got wet and whose buttons would not work properly for me to scroll down had decided to work. I scrolled down and the cd was titled Secondhand serenade a twist in my story.

I had never heard of the band or what they had sounded like at anytime before. The next day me and a friend went to hastings to find the cd i went and got and pulled out the page with the lyrics on it. I real all the songs but the song that stuck out to me was called your call. I waited for my friend to drop me off before i listened to it. When i got back home i put it in and went straight to this song and i cried so long and hard.

Anyway the next day i let another friend who had went to the funeral listen to the song and halfway into it he told me and i quote "Dude, they played this at her funeral" I was in complete shock.

I still miss her and I will always love her i wish i could have told her those words.

I would like to think secondhand serenade for such beautiful and powerful lyrics.

The Meaning of this song is the singer tell the girl he likes that he likes her and will do anything to be with her but she keeps pushing him away and he keeps coming back. this is the EXACT same situation i'm in
