Bisounours Lyrics

(Rough) Translation: There was a time when nothing was unlit When only the gold of my heart would give the time And then I was strong but I have lost the flower and the innocence In this setting I feel lost ’cause nothing makes sense anymore I still have a few dreams as long as I’m given enough time I’ll go and caress their lips I still have a few dreams As long as I’m given enough time, I’ll go and caress their lips There was a time when nothing was unlit When only the gold of my heart would give the time And then I was strong but I have lost the flower and the innocence In this setting I feel lost ’cause nothing makes sense anymore If the time is running too fast I feel like I can do it I am a child I refuse time

I watch the sky and this rainbow alleviate myself I watch the light and then I wander in my dreams

Forget the time Stay a child

It's about growing up, definately. Having your views of the world change as you age, and how it's painful. It's a beautiful song. Spleen is an amazing rapper.

This is one of my very favorite songs. I definitely think it's about wanting to go back to having the innocence and view of a child. Even if you don't know what the translation is, it still feels like that.

one of my favourite songs ever

someone knows what do they mean by loosing "la fleur"(the flower) ?

The flower could refer to virginity? We all know what "deflowering" means, so maybe it has something to do with that.

(I only mentioned that because it says, "And then I was strong but I have lost the flower and the innocence." Losing one's virginity has a lot to do with a loss of innocence.)

Alright, for the record the guy rapping is SO NOT Spleen ! At least it doesn't seem very likely to me.. Spleen is on the track though.. He's the one humming at the very beginning and throughout the song.

So when I saw that the track was featuring Spleen and no one else, I thought that's impossible, Spleen's voice is very recognisable and that rapping part has nothing to do with him !

After a bit of research, I found that a certain "Ardzen" participated on the album.

For comparison you can listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Doy2K-UB9Wc&t=1m56s
and https://soundcloud.com/the-black-white-skins/sweet-thing-spleen-feat-hugh (which is a track from Spleen's album btw)

To me, his timbre sounds more like that of the one rapping in Bisounours than Spleen's does...

Wonder why they didn't mention him on the track, if I am right... But I might be wrong and Spleen might just as well have altered his voice somehow...
