You lie in the snow, cold but not dead
stare into the sun, long since its last heat
feel the freeze burn skin
salt your open wounds
a burning desire clears your eyes
a willful air fills your lungs
you choke your first breath of wildfire and ocean's depth
climb out of your hole, see your spirit take form
this world of cold stone gives nothing in return
to those who sleep while the restless burn
there are the few driven to flame
most are content to drown in the wake of dreams
the trail lies overground
across the years fade out of light
ever growing dim to an age in the dark
grasp from your soul, don't let it steal your eyes
stare into the sun, long since its last heat
salt your open wounds
a burning desire clears your eyes
a willful air fills your lungs
climb out of your hole, see your spirit take form
to those who sleep while the restless burn
there are the few driven to flame
most are content to drown in the wake of dreams
across the years fade out of light
ever growing dim to an age in the dark
grasp from your soul, don't let it steal your eyes

Looks like to me it's the paralyzing effect of the coldness being used as a metaphor for inaction...the subject can't be spurred by the heat to actually alter it's life, but the speaker is pleading (DON'T LET IT STEAL YOUR...) the subject to go before the cold fully paralyzes him/her/it.
It's like everyone in the world is freezed by modern culture and ideals and it takes stregth to overcome that and set your spirit free.
This song is probably based on the writings of Jack London, which are a huge influence on them.
It is an advice not to destroy your life with trivialities, but actually live it. The ones who live are tge ones who burn.

For me it's about being in some difficult situation. You want to retake something or someone that was important for you, but you are idle.
Burn, my first encounter with Neo! It amazed me, i needed this.
I think about this song sometimes when I'm in the mountains or something like that. When I put myself through something difficult, waking up while it's still dark out, low temperatures, putting my body through a great stress, doing something quite uncomfortable, which is then rewarded by extraordinary experiences and feelings, like being on top of a mountain, or alone in the middle of nowhere. While some people prefer to be comfy at home, I like to burn out there. It is parallel to all Neurosis music to me. It's no casual thing, you really have to invest something in it. Give it a part of yourself. It is brutal and draining at times, but it can get you to places most people never get to.
