Only four comments? Whats wrong with you people! I ADORE this song so much infact it just might be my favorite. I think this song can be related to several things. The first one would be the obvious about a guy in a relationship. That they want to make it work but so much shit has happend between them they can never be with one another, cause its neither a healthy or happy relationship. From "you broke my thunder" it sounds like it was kinda an abusive relationship not physicly but verbily, also it could be that they broken up. Though my other interpetation is its about drugs and he is kinda talking to his other self when he abused drugs saying to himself pretty much does he know how much he hurt himself? ill write more once I figure everything out.

this song is great one of blue octobers best. the great thing about this song is in the bridge the lead singer goes from sounding like ed rowland of collective soul to dave matthews yet pulls it off, tremendous

Its the question everyone asks after they've been hurt: do you have any idea how badly you've hurt me? This song is basically saying that you've hurt me more than i've ever been before. you took away everything i had going in my life, took away all meaning and now im a piece of empty nothingness, completely crushed beyond all hope.

I really have no idea what this song is about, and was kinda disappointed to see that nobody left any comments about the meaning.
This is one of my favourite Blue October songs, though.
I think its saying like maybe "we were about to start a relationship and I wanted it with all my being, but,you broke me inside and no matter how bad I want you, and I do, because of how I am, we will never be together, now.
and on the flipside, another interpretation could be
