Amazing Glow Lyrics
A rare and wicked skill to change the light or weather
No room was spared No mood shown her mercy
I was a tireless fool I thought I could do better
I left in flames: a paper shade hanging from a light
And when it came to the wrecking ball:
she swung it effortlessly like it had no weight at all
And when it came to her victories:
The genus names of all the flowers that were feeding off her
amazing glow
I changed my master plan I changed my friends and city
I go to sleep I still wake up screaming
A dream so full and real, you'd think I would know better
I try to stave off a new day from rising.
And when it came to the wrecking ball: she swung it effortlessly like it had no weight at all
And when it came to her victories: the genus names of all the flowers that were feeding off her
amazing glow.
No room was spared No mood shown her mercy
I was a tireless fool I thought I could do better
I left in flames: a paper shade hanging from a light
she swung it effortlessly like it had no weight at all
And when it came to her victories:
The genus names of all the flowers that were feeding off her
amazing glow
I go to sleep I still wake up screaming
A dream so full and real, you'd think I would know better
I try to stave off a new day from rising.
And when it came to her victories: the genus names of all the flowers that were feeding off her
amazing glow.

Overcome By Happiness

This is actually my wife's favorite song by Pernice--she's taken it from the other direction, as she left an abusive ex to start a better life with someone else (me of course!) and with no regrets. True story: when we heard him play it in concert, he was looking at her the whole time. I think he knew she thought the song was about someone like her!

I think it's about a guy who feels tormented because he broke up with his ex, who seems unaffected and found someone else.

"And when it came to the wrecking ball: she swung it effortlessly like it had no weight at all" I have been there and I know how it feels.
