I really don't know what this song is about. It sound like a person out at war who died, and slaughtering babies, could mean he's out there killing people who are loved by their parents? i dunno that's the idea i get. then the rest of the song sounds like he's lookin/singin down from heaven? i dunno, good song tho, good beat, just perfect
this one seems to be about finding and being tested for your faith as you are trying to teach others about the grace of god and love, while being perscuted every step of the way both by other people, and god still is testing you along the your journey
I first thought of it as being about conflict between religions '...matter of personal pride' --what I believe is right and you're wrong. How can God be on your side when you're suffering? 'He must have forsaken thee...' Or something like that.

I see this song as sort of a parody of inspirational Christian music. The synthesizer demo music and cheesy singing would fit perfectly in a tuesday night local church concert. The lyrics describe the absurdity of rationalizing war by believing that God supports the soldiers and the killing of others, and that the war is God's plan and therefore God is on everyone's side because he wants these other people to die and suffer for the greater good.
