Civil Sin Lyrics
Here's to the gods and their seats on high
Nobody knows anything
Here's to the flags in their guilty sky
Nobody says anything
This aside, this coast is clear
It doesn't help, it doesn't help me
Who am I? Only
One more life that you can owe me
It's civilised, it's civilised, it's civil sin
Who am I? Only
One more lie so you can own me
It's civilised, it's civilised, it's civil sin
Here's to the crown in their Sunday best
Nobody knows anything
Here's to the crowd, slaves who never rest
Nobody says anything
And this aside, this coast is clear
Until one man buys the whole show
And this aside, my mind is clear
It doesn't help, it doesn't help me
Who am I? Only
One more life that you can owe me
It's civilised, it's civilised, it's civil sin
Who am I? Only
One more lie so you can own me
It's civilised, it's civilised, it's civil sin
Who am I? Only
One more life that you can owe me
It's civilised, it's civilised, it's civil sin
Who am I? Only
One more lie so you can own me
It's civilised, it's civilised, it's civil sin
Nobody knows anything
Here's to the flags in their guilty sky
Nobody says anything
It doesn't help, it doesn't help me
One more life that you can owe me

Nice
firstly, i just got their new album today, after pre-ordering it on amazon AAAAAGGGGGEEEEESSS ago, and i LOVE the album. This song is one of the best on it aswell. Right I think this song is about a guy that has broken up with a girl, and he is trying to show the fact that she isn't special, and any guy can have her
And this aside, this coast is clear Until one man buys the whole show
This aside the coast is clear means that he has forgotten about her, and just wants them to get on as friends, but will always be jealous of any other guys that get with her.
One more life that you can owe me
This line suggest that she took away his life, and he wants it back. Has anyone else got any sugesstions, because I could be wrong, I'm really not sure. But mail back xxxxx
Why aren't these guys getting a billion comments? They're so good, they deserve them! This was the first BKB song I heard and I've been in love ever since.
The meaning though..? I have no idea. :P
This song is the new single too :)
can hear a bit of a muse type sound in this, but maybe its just me
It might be about the government being corrupt. "who am I? Only one more lie so you can own me" They lie to the public to get a vote. Then "nobody knows anything" Does anyone really know what gose on behind what they portray?
It also say that "this aside the coast is clear" so maybe we are better without them.
But that's just What I think- don't feel shy to say I'm wrong.
i always thought it was about atheism
'Here's to the crown in their Sunday best Nobody knows anything Here's to the crowd, slaves who never rest Nobody says anything '
I get the impression, and i may well be wrong! that its about people in higher places, and how its a tad unfair on the rest of us! In this verse surley by 'the crown' he means the royal family? and when ever you see the royal family in public, the crowds are huge. Surley this means that the crowd, normal working people, are slaves who never rest. This is what i make of it anyway. Civil means something like 'applying to ordinary citizens'. Therefore the fact that the royal family sit on their rich fat arses all day and do nothing whilst the thousands of faces in the crowd have full time jobs and keep the royal family is civil sin?
Any way, its an amazing song! I love it

Clearly about rich people and that money can buy anything.. "Until one man buys the whole show."
