1234 1234 Lyrics

You, you try, You try to get by.
"You're never going to pull it off",
"You shouldn't even try",
"You're a wet cigarette",
"You're always second best",
But they're never going to give a shit
about anybody but theirselves.
You fight for them to realize;
There's more to life,
There's more to you,
There's more than meets the eye.
And when you're done,
The battle's been won.
You sit back, you smile
and this is what you hum, you hum:

Woah oh oh oh oh oh

The years go by,
The time it does fly.
Every single second is a moment in time
That passes oh, so quick
And it seems like nothing,
But when you're looking back,
Well, it amounts to everything.
I've got myself. I've got my friends.
I've got my little family, but that's not where it ends.
This one goes out to you, it goes out to everyone.
It's in the name of honesty because life has just begun.

Woah oh oh oh oh oh
1234 1234

Look around little brother, can you tell me what you see?
You're a big boy now, so take responsibility.
You never had it hard, but now it's getting tough,
So you whine, whine, whine and you say you've had enough.
You say i'm full of shit, That i'm a hypocrite
I shouldn't talk, when i can't take the advice that i give?
Well maybe you're right, but open your eyes:
the main difference here is that i try, try,

Woah oh oh oh oh oh

So as to the meaning of the song itself...

This one's pretty straightforward. A kid, down on his luck, everyone kinda shitting on him, and he's trying to prove to these people that he's someone of some worth to them.

Basically this song is a reality check that life is short and you've gotta make every moment count, because when you look back and see you spent your life trying to prove something to someone, you're gonna regret it.

Please describe the experience of making the new album. Making the record was not unlike chipping out each piece.

2: What took so long to make it? Did it take long? If so it's because be are very busy. Bands make almost nothing from record sales, so we were out touring and whoring in order to pay rent. Plus some other reasons which we are keeping quiet.

3: What is the record exactly, as it's called Keasbey Nights, but no-one knows yet what the record contains. It's Keasbey Nights. We wanted to get it right for once. Plus ? knowing that blood sweat and tears are poured into and album as opposed to paying 13 bucks for a record they only put a flashy new cover on it. This release is a pre-emptive strike, I guess. Whatever you want to call it, it will piss people off. And that, at the end of the day, is all that really matters.

This confuses me, aren't they paying 13 bucks for a record they already own? Because that is what I thought was happening, sounds like I have it wrong? Yep you've got it wrong. If there's one thing I can't stand it's when a CD is re-released untouched sonically, with a new cover, and maybe a live video and ? kids are tricked into buying this new edition of something they already have. I was upset when I was told the guys were going to do this with Keasbey so I offered to re-record it, because I've always thought it sounded like pure garbage sound-wise. ? particularly for a band with 7 musicians to record, so we used some of our own money and took our time with this one. So we used some of our own money and took out time with this one. I'll tell you right now, we have no intent of hiding our intentions, we wanted to prevent the re-release of Keasbey untouched as well as to get the record to sound how it should have sounded originally. For that we sacrificed months of our time, and our money and now we feel what we have is worth paying for. Although, truth be told, I don't care if a single record is sold as it is, indeed, old music and kids have a right to know what it is and to decide whether or not they'll pay for it. Do I think it's worth 13 dollars? Yes, very much so, but that's my opinion. What other people decide, that's their own opinion. We're going to keep doing what we do whether or not a single record is sold. We're going to keep doing what we do whether or not a single record is sold. We're going to keep doing what we do whether or not a single record is sold. We're going to keep doing what we do whether or not a single record is sold. We're going to keep doing what we do whether or not a single record is sold. We're going to keep doing what we do whether or not a single record is sold.

Wow. Okay. First time I have heard it said that this is the same songs. Every time you were asked, you skirt that issue. Whatever you want to call it, we will piss people off. And that, at the end of the day, is all that really matters. As my good friend ? always says, you are indeed a ?, and unfortunately just don't get it. Peace out bitches.

to fill in your "?"'s

1st ?: Plus "it helps me sleep at night" knowing.... 2nd ?: nothing really. computer voice says "maybe a live video and kids are tricked..." 3rd ?: sounded lick pure garbage sound-wise. "Plus the budgets we get are laughable" particulalry for a band....
4th ?: another unecessary question mark 5th ?: you are indeed a (i interpret it as "casette"... not too sure on it tho xD

i reckon they shouldnt have 'remastered' this album. i love sm more than anyother band but the thing that made the original so good was that it was kinda dodgy and a bit rough at the edges it gave it a lot of character and made it more interesting listening sm has done some songs better and yet some worse i.e walking away but thats just my opinion what u's think?

i think walking away is a weird one, there are parts of the original i like better and parts of the streetlight one i like better. either way i think its one of their best songs :P

its got a much jazzier feel to it. Both the recording and the musical nuances, make it feel like they are all just jamming in a small jazz club. I kinda liked the way the old one sounded (rough around the edges as uztnus put it) but the dudes from streetlight are all better musicians that the ones from catch-22. I really like the way the drums sound on this one alot better. Chris Thatcher is the shit.

I have mixed feelings, cause my older sister got this album when it came out. At the time, I was 8. So I essentially grew up with Catch 22's version of Keasbey Nights. I just bought this album today and listened to it, and wasn't sure what to think. I knew that it would be all the same songs, but I knew that it would have a different feel to it cause it's SM and not C22. I have to admit, a couple of songs didn't make the changeover very well. I didn't like how On & On & On sounded. Yet, 1234, 1234 and 9mm and a Three Piece Suit sounded amazing. I don't know. Just not used to it yet I guess.
