Spiralling Lyrics

Well and I can and I die
I can, I die
Well and I'm freezing
I'm freezing
Well, it's a sly curse
A sly curse
Well and I'm spiralling
I'm spiralling

In my broken heart game
I got all my fives
I got all my ones to choose from
My cave
Waiting for you
Waiting for you

I'm ravage like a dog and meat
I'm gone, gone
In Carthusian Red I get cut along
I am
I am undone
I am undone

Where go?
Where now?
Can't stand
And if I can
Can die
I'm freezing
Sly curse
I'm spiralling

In my cruel love gold poisoned
I was born, born
Not a girl and not a jewel
I am
I am some son
I am some bum

Where go?
Where now?
Can't stand
And if I can
Can die
I'm freezing
Sly curse
I'm spiralling

Held Red Rook [x6]

  • Carthusian Red is a monastery of the particularly austere Carthusian monastic order. Red Rook is a reference, I think, to the old Parker Brothers card game, Rook; most decks featured a picture of a bird on the front, and different sets of decks were colored, some red. 'I've got all my fives' because it makes since in context of the Rook: a five is the lowest scoring card in the game.

they are from a pretty trustworthy site

Just came across this song and I can't believe how brilliant it is. Unbelievable

Like everyone I've had my own interpretation of what the last lines where (which I thought it repeated "Hail, Ray Barone" which is ludicrous. I know.) but the last part repeats "Held brave Roäc".

Roäc is from the Tolkien stories, who is a helpfully and brave raven who advises Thorin to try and negotiate with Bard. Roäc accompanies Thorin search for the dwarves and delivers messages for them even though he vocally disagrees with their plans.

what's the last lyric that is repeated but never listed? it sounds like 'handrail broke'

Cover art for Spiralling lyrics by Antony and the Johnsons

I think the last repeated line is, "Help, brave rogue." The last syllable is hard, but not quite a K. It could also be: "Hell grave rogue," but that makes even less sense.

I'm also fairly certain it's: "I was born worn," not "old."

this song just made me cry. granted i may be suffering from premenstrual syndrome, but not many songs make me cry just by listening to the song alone... beauty beauty beauty

the last line always sounded like "help ray bourque" to me. you know, ray bourque, the nhl defenseman who played a record 23 seasons before winning the stanley cup. obviously thats not really the line but i still laugh every time i hear it.
