Slip It In Lyrics

Hey mama. Come on, come on.
I don't know.
Come on, come on. This is it.
I kinda got a boyfriend.
No, no. This is happening. This is the time, now.
Uh, oh, ok!
Alright, come on, go, go...

You're loose
(Slip it in)
Put your brain in a noose
(Slip it in)
The next day you regret it
(Slip it in)
But, you're still loose

You say you don't want it
You don't want it
Say you don't want it
Then you slip it on in

In, in, in

You feel like a whore
(Slip it in)
But what you did the night before
(Slip it in)
You decided to be all loose
(Slip it in)
And go all crazy

You say you don't want it
You don't want it
Say you don't want it
But then you slip it on in

In, yeah

You slip it in [x2]

You say you didn't think
(Slip it in)
You said you had too much to drink
(Slip it in)
Is it in the chemical?
(Slip it in)
Or is it just some part of you?

You say you don't want it
You don't want it
Say you don't want it
But then you slip it on in

In, in, in

You regret how you felt
(Slip it in)
You felt it
(Slip it in)
You decided to be all loose
(Slip it in)
It's what you choose

You say you don't want it
You don't want it
Say you don't want it
But then you slip it on in

You slip it in [x2]

Alright! Hey! Hey!

You say you got a boyfriend
(Slip it in)
But you're hinting at my friends
(Slip it in)
And everybody else's friend
(Slip it in)
You're not loose, you're wide open

And you say you don't want it
You don't want it
Say you don't want it
Then you slip it on in

In, in, in

You're getting around
(Slip it in)
I'm not putting it down
(Slip it in)
It's just what it is
(Slip it in)
Getting it while it's around

You say you don't want it
You don't want it
You don't want it
But then you slip it on in

In, in, in

You slip it in [x2]

Mount up!

its a song about a girl hooking up with a guy at a show even though she has a boyfriend. ya, the aggressor tries to lay it on thick, but its not about that, its about a girl in a relationship screwin around and using a bunch of excuses (to much to drink, they regret it) to try and earn forgiveness even though they'll just do it again. sexist? no, because this is something that a lot of people go through. boy, girl, whatever. it just happened to be a girl in this song. people read way to much into stuff.

You guys are stupid. Everyone with half a brain knows that punk uses a lot of sarcasm to get a point across. They sometimes show how stupid other people are by acting like the stupid person in a song.

@kaitlineh94 i agree with this.

@kaitlineh94 i agree with this. to clarify, i don't agree that they are stupid. but that punk uses sarcasm to make a point.

this song gets almost boring because of all the repitions, but they function perfectly within the song to emphasize slipping it in, time and time again. Not much depth here, but an enjoyable song nonetheless.

This song has a pretty sexist mentality, i think. It's talking about some girl and they're calling her a whore, but the guys she has sex with aren't? Anyways, pretty catchy, cool sounding song, the lyrics aren't great though.

I agree, its so damn repetitive. I like the end a lot, ahaha.

Yeah, it kind of disgusts me that they wrote sexist victim-blaming shit like this-- and that Suzi Gardner from L7 even agreed to be on this album! Catchy, but gawd the lyrics suck.

But you know whats even more annoying buddy?

The fact that you cant fucking spell. Thats great that they wrote what they wrote, if it was really THAT bad they wouldn't be as big as they are now. And well what the fuck are you listening to it if it disgusts you, and if you think for one second that they even give to fuckin shits about who thought it was disgusting your wrong, and Suzi well look at the style of music they played, shit that would piss people off. like you... and cause you to piss people like...

i agree, dude. i think a lot of people don't understand the blunt lyrics and music style that came out of bands like black flag. plus, this song isn't sexist at all like he was saying. it just happened to be a woman as the example and not a man. people should be smart enough to know that men do it just as much as women.

I think this song is very much either Ginn or Rollins playing a role of a manwhore and its not their own beliefs at all as their other work will show and the female part matches it. Otherwise great song with phenomenal punchy guitar work.

Gotta agree with FuneralPyre. I always saw the song as Rollins occupying the headspace of some misogynistic dick, then throwing the guy's ugly worldview in our faces (I feel like he does this on a bunch of later flag songs.) I seriously doubt Suzi Gardner (or Kira for that matter) would have contributed to the album if they were convinced "Slip it In" was a totally sincere expression of Black Flag's oppinions on women. Yeah, classic song, btw.

i think song is genius. it shows how easy people are to breaking commitment for a quick fuck. and not only that, it shows the kind of dude who does these kind of things even though knowing the woman has a significant other, which is him being a dick. it doesn't go much deeper then morality and trust issues, really.
