This song always sounded incredibly sarcastic to me. Like, "Why do you fuckers keep telling me I need a baby? Yeah, this is what you sound like!" Funny enough, this song was playing when I read the news on his website that he was gonna be a daddy.

I think this song tends to mock the carelessness of people who have children without realizing what a big responsibility it is. Devin sings this in such a carefree way, thus implying the carefree way that many people see having children.

Devin has stated that this song has the most meaning to him out of all of the songs off of Synchestra. Possessions from Strapping's Alien is the thought of having kids from the point of view of a 16 year old, and this song is the thought of having kids from the point of view of a 32 year old. In Possessions, babies seem to be nothing more than a burden, but in this song, babies seem to be very, very good.

Of course, Devin's songs can have multiple interpretations. I personally think that Aniland's thoughts also fit pretty well.
