Smoking Room Lyrics
Spent afternoons
In the smoking room.
The things that I said then
Still make me burn with shame.
The world is frozen now
It glitters, sparkles, and shines.
In the smoking room.
Still make me burn with shame.
It glitters, sparkles, and shines.

A man regrets the way he once treated others as he endures the loss of everything, even the world itself.
This song in comparison to the rest of the album is rather strange. Whereas the majority of songs (if not every song preceding) are introspective and depressive/bleak, "Smoking Room" ends on a note of hope. The last verse,
"The world is frozen now, It glitters, sparkles and shines",
is delivered in such a way that it conveys a sense of there being a light at the end of the tunnel or hope at the very end. This almost contradicts the lightless, sombre moods of the tracks coming before it, but in a way makes it a perfectly fitting end to such an album.
